Best Games?

I ordered a PSP3000 bundle and should be picking it up anytime now. Any suggestions on some good games to get? I have a 360 and some of my favorite games are Blue Dragon, Ninja Gadien2 and Gears.

Thinking of getting Dungeon Explorer, Crisis Core, God of War and FF tactics. Maybe FF1 and 2 too. I like old school rpgs.

What'd you search?

I have owned a PSP for a while now, and I have a couple of recommendations.

You said that you were a Gears player. If you like cover-based online shooting, then I would suggest Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. Even without the online play, it's still a good game. It should keep you occupied for a while. I love Gears, and I love Logan's Shadow for some of the same reasons.

Another game I would recommend, if you are interested in an action-intensive game, is Monster Hunter: Freedom, or its sequel. The Gamespot reviews are, unfortunately, quite inadequate. Check out the player review breakdowns, and you'll see what I mean. It is a hard game to learn, but ultimately worth it.

Also, if you like simple shooters with a depth of complexity, I would recommend Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. I was skeptical of a psp battlefront at first (a friend had been displeased with Battlefront 2 for psp), but the customization system worked great.

Here are my three recommendations. Hope they help.

Here is my "recommends" list for the games currently out for the PSP:

1. Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (2 God of Wars crammed in a UMD (see God of War comment below))

2. Crisis Core: FF7 (a complete package of Action, Adventure, RPG and Puzzle. an Eye Candy to boot.)

3.God of War COO (pure awesomeness in a UMD)

4. Tekken DR (best fighting game for the PSP to date)

5. Killzone Liberation (3rd person, diablo-esque action shooter )

6. Jeanne d'Arc (may be grouped with the #10s below but this game deserves to have its own spot higher than those 2.)

7. Burnout Legends OR Need for Speed Carbon Own te City (one good racing game should be enough.)

8. Xmen Legends 2 OR Marvel Ultimate Alliance (they are sort of similar so it's your call but id suggest both.)

9. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (Chicks love this!)

10. FFT OR Disgaea PSP (awesome SRPGs but i just find Jeanne d'Arc a bit more fun while playing)

I'd say go for Crisis Core, God of War, Monster Hunter 2 (I'm having trouble getting into it but from what I hear it's great), Wipeout Pure (if you like racing games at all), Battlefront Renegade Squadron, Star Wars the Force Unleashed, Daxter, and maybe Patapon. The first 3 are the best IMO.

All of those games you mentioned sound good for you though because youre a fan of that genre.

P.S. No games on the PSP are going to be like Gears (the PSP couldn't handle that chainsaw haha)
