About this topic it kind of makes no sense, graphics will NEVER surpass real life images NEVER unless they use real actors and enviroments and we have seen that crap before and it would just be even with real lifenot better.
I understand what you mean by saying games can take you to places not possible in real life, but that does not mean the images are better than real life, a game set in rome or another beautiful city was was rendered perfectly and looked real would look better thanthe planet sera ingears.
Only when devs can render images that equal real life then take us to a far away sci-fi placethen it will be better.
Try watching planet earth on blu-ray then compare jungle/cave/mountainimages with games its not comparable,
