Bravia's are very good although they may still be a little above your budget. I have a Bravia and am very happy with it. You may be able to shop around and do some price comparisons.

i have a 40 inch Bravia and its awesome. But way more than your range. I watched today Apocolypto and Fantastic 4 rise of the SS on Blu Ray and they looked amazing

bravias are good but you are paying extra for the brand. for example an LCD 32 bravia is $800, you can get another LCD with better capabilities than a bravias for a cheaper price.

Bravia are by far the best but are by far the msot expensive too

Vizio are cheap and have good quality if you are really on a budget
