Who do you think is the greatest ps3 player ever? In basketball we have Jordan, Hockey Gretsky, golf we got the skandolous Tiger but who do we have to live up to on the Ps3. Skill wise primarily but also hand eye coordination, endurance, clutch performance ect...I think there should definitly be a competition and ranking annually so that we all know how we stand against the masses. I think it should be balance with sports, shooters, driving, ect...Personally I think I could break top 1000 because my skills are strong but I cant imagine how good the number 1 person must be. What do you guys think? I also would like to know everyones opinion on professional gaming and maybe starting a sports league similar to the nba or nfl. After all, many games we play in teams.

Let me know!

Oh good catch! I appreciate the constructive criticism and will work to improve my spelling. With that said i respectfully disagree that ones spelling impaces their gaming potential.

Ian_K2772
Hell no. Trophies are awards for more or less simple activities that pretty much every person can achieve. There's not much skill involved. The person with the most trophies is the PS3 player with the most money and freetime, nothing else.

O wow, well maybe their marketing is the problem. How much do pro gamers make a year? do they get endorsed and such? And how do I get drafted and recognized for my skills?

I concur, trophies is too simple of an answer and it fails to take into consideration many other tasks that trophies fail to recognize.

Pros can make a good amount but of course depends on your skills. The prize money for tournaments can get pretty high at the higher levels. I cant say an exact number but some do make a living off it. Yes they do get endorsed by companies like madcatz and such and yeah people even kinda get drafted onto teams. You get recognized by winning tournaments plain n simple. Your start off local and try to go national and people will notice if your winning. If your intending to play a shooter you will need a team though. These players are the best in the world though. There's a huge difference between feeling that your the best because you do well at home and online and literally being one of the best.

Many people still dont take games seriously though which is why you dont hear much about MLG unless your looking for it.

Duck360 is pretty good, he has pretty much every single hard platinum trophy in existance(NGS2, Wipeout HD, Mirror's Edge, GTAIV), however him and his brothers use the same account. PrinceofPeace and Mastarifla both have 100% completition rates and like 90 and 60 Platinums respectively (Mastarifla has some very quick Platinum times too).

If you have Wipeout HD,NGS2, Mirror's Edge, WaW, KZ2, etc. then it is pretty imressive. I'd like to see someone without skill get NGS2 or Wipeout HD Plat...

Most stupid logic in this thread.

It's not the person with the most trophies, but having many hard platinums and a high completion rate are a good representation of skill, it shows they are skilled at a wide variety of games. It's a much better indicated than, for example, being good at a few games online.

To me it doesn't matter. As long as you enjoy playing, who cares who's best?! I can understand that people care a lot, TC cares, I'm not dissing the 'who's best' question, it just doesn't matter to me.

There is currently no such catagory. If there were someone who has played all of the Playstation 3 games Blu-ray and PSN downloadable. Most tropies plus most professional viseogame competitions won.

There iscurrently is no such way to measure. You would have to excellent in all PS3 genres. Be able to win PS3 game competitions. Maybe excel at the Pro gamer league level.

Measuring by number of trophies in a profile is not enough.

Nobody likes a bragger.

As for the topic, it's rather very hard to know. There's no definite criteria for it and even if there was you'd have to measure the skill (which is, again, impossible to define) of millions of players around the world.

Well the story was most likely about south Korea or at least that what it sounds like. Star scraft is huge over there and i mean huge. They actually teach it in school and Many people actually make a living off of it there.

There are no problems only solutions. We can find measurable criteria, nothing is impossible unless one believes it is. After all we put a man on the moon

I want to know who is the best/most dedicated gamer. The one who stays up night after night tweeking their play. The one who endures playing through blisters. The one who plays so hard they need gatorade to avoid dehydration. To be the best at anything takes some sacrifice, I'm sorry you are quick to label any such pro gamer as a nerd. -Sedin

Ian_K2772

i agree with this half and half, there are a lot of difficult trophies, then again there are some trophies that are too easy and too pathetic to earn (Hannah Montana for example, and i know a few ppl on my friends list who has this platinum :( )

I actually am currently in college but I am part of a team with 4 others. When we are not in class we are playing video games. We refuse to drink because it hinders coordination and is a distraction. I will tell you Sedin, sacrifice is a must but to all who suceed it is a must. I am best at SF4, COD series, Killzone 2, Madden and NbA2k. With Madden it is all about practice. I play at least 7 full simulation games on all Maddem, 15 min quarters with each team on a yearly basis. Doing so makes me prepared to face competition with any team at any time. SF4 i have mastered all fighters although I use Sagat and Ryu most often. The biggest key is to make sure you get exposure to a wide range of competition so u get familiar with different playing styles.

I don't think race is a factor in video gaming. Japanese are great because they have many PS3 users and the system is from their home country. I have played against equally good players across the world including other Americans.

Tons of people have beaten and platinumed DS...

Then whoever is the top/ most undefeated player in PVP mode.

Thats only one game...same person on that leader board probably cannot play sports games against computer on rookie.

But it is one of the hardest games of this generation, and a very skill-based one at that. It's a unique blend of gameplay all its own. Sports games are relatively the same fare, and even play by real-world sports rules which sort of kills the sense of game-specific strategy and skill.
