Best PS3 Games. Help

Okay, after getting a 250Gb PS3 with GOW3, my dad of course has to make me feel like $h!t for wasting half a weeks check for something, "only 12yr olds play". I am 17, and I feel like playing it. What the heck. To rub it in his face, can someone please recommend me PS3 games that you can play for hours online. Games you can't get bored of easily. I was thinking Battlefield, but I don't know if the online has a lot of players.

If you want Multiplayer then get a Xbox. If you want Single Player get the PS3.

I mean sometimes it comes down to what system your friends have....which is what?

Most of my friends have both, but I am not talking about friend-kind of MP. I just want to be able to play Online with random people.

I have both and there is nothing wrong with most games on-line with the PS3. If you like shooters then Call of Duty 4 or Modern Warfare 2 should do the job :)

Don't listen to anyone saying crap about the PSN. Is it 100% perfect in every aspect, no it is not. I have owned all three systems and while 360's online may be the slightest (and i do mean slightest) bit better, it is not worth the money IMO. I have poured many hours into Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, and Demon's Souls. The experience has been very good. There has a been a couple of small issues in uncharted 2 but I played for like 50 hours haha. Seriously the only system with inferior online is the Wii unfortunately.

Metal Gear Solid 4 (No idea how the online is, I got it for the SP)

and so much more that I cannot think of. I don't play my ps3 for MP, as it does have many amazing SP games, but it does have good MP games too. I personally play PC games for multiplayer.

MAG is a really good online only game silky smooth online play with up two 256 people in one match 3 different factions with there own advantages and disadvantages, its so much fun

The online aspect of the ps3 is adequate. I mean I have friends who either have 360 or no console at all, and either way it doesn't make a difference to me cause playing with random people online gets the job done. I don't have a 360, but I can believe it is much better than PSN, but to say PSN sucks is saying too much.

Again the only thing i notice that is actually better is cross game voice chatting. Other than that I really never saw a difference and think paying for online is rediculous. PC is the MP king anyway :P

Wow, first of all he isnt asking you to justify the 360 as being better, hes asking what good online games are on the ps3. And second of all, who gives a frik if there is 500k. 500k or 5k, you will not notice much of a difference.

Uncharted 2's MP is amazing and I played it far more then halo 3 when i used to own a 360. LBP was also MUCH better then I thought it was. I played with some freinds and had a blast!

Most the games on the 360 go to PC aswell, which has better graphics, better controls, more customization, cheaper games, dedicated servers, and free online. Please don't boost up the 360 to be something it is not, all it is, is a watered down PC ;)

For multiplayer grab MW2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2 and there is nothing wrong with the PSN except the fact that Xbox Live is a quite a bit better. Use PSN because the Playstation 3 is a better console and you made a great decision on purchasing a console that will not brick on you. About your dad don't mind him because parents save their money and they are not from the gaming era. Do not lose your social life over gaming and become a hardcore gamer go to school stay healthy and play games but become successful so your parents will not mind your hobbies.

Congrats on your PS3 I just purchased one last week and could not be happier with my new console.

i cant play online console wise(never have) no broadband . but for online expirience (based on ofline multiplayer if converted properley no lag ect) then resistance 2 mag or cod waw nazi zombies .

Stop listening to all the fanboys for both sides of the console argument. both consoles are great. the 360 has cross-game chat and the ability to add friends straight from your in-game group/party. other than that, 360 just works a little bit smoother. not a lot, and PSN works fine.

The whole "PS3 is for SP, 360 is for MP" crap is bs, PS3 is great online. Either one is fine, it just depends on what your friends have and what you plan on using the console for. if you want a multimedia center and gaming, get PS3, if your friends have 360 and you dont care about a multimedia center, get 360.

Online games: COD: MW2, MGS4, Killzone 2, LBP, GTA IV, Battlefield BC2, MAG, Resistance 2 are probably the best ones. LBP is the only 1 there that isnt a shooter. and MW2 is awesome. :)
