To answer your question, super stardust HD is okay. It's basically a modernized version of asteroids. I hear good things about the Pixel Junk games and comet crash. You might want to check out a few youtube videos of them before you buy. They may not be your type of games.

SSHD is a really fun pick up and play game. But that pick up and play feel can also lead to a long gaming session. Its pretty fun and has some different modes to keep you entertained.

Comet Crash is also great as well as Zen Pinball if your into that.

They are having a sale on the PSN store where you could get two select games for 10 bucks. You should check that out.
