out of these choices

-Dead Nation

-LBP 1

-Wipeout HD

-Infamous

-Super Stardust

i already have LBP so im going to cross that out, if I have zombie apocalypse, should i get dead nation, arent they the same. so, im going to cross dead nation off unless you guys have a rwally good reason. Infamous i am most likely going to get because it was once $60 and it's awesome. And now , what's better super stardust or wipeout. I've checked them both out on youtube , but i didnt get a clear picture. so, what do you do on super stardust? And what do you do on wipeout besides racing?

Wipeout and Infamous are the best of the five. Little Big Planet is good, but not great, and it's almost completely obsolete if you already own or have played LBP2. Super Stardust HD is merely okay. It has pretty good review scores, but take them with a grain of salt because when SSHD came out it was pretty much the only decent PSN game for a while. Dead Nation is not good.

I'd say the best of them are infamous and LBP. However, I already have LBG (which I wouldn't call obsolete, considering other games have spawned sequels without considering the original obsolete) so I don't need to get it again. I'll probably get infamous and wipeout since it also comes with the expansion. I would have liked to see MAG on there just to get more people online for it (note, I already have it and feel it somehow needs to be brought back to life).

Just obsolete in the sense that the majority of the content in LBP is online, and with LBP2 you get full access to everything - most of the new levels are being created with LBP2 tools and won't work with the original game. LBP is still worth playing once because its story levels are fun.

You shoot enemies and asteroids in Super Stardust and build a high score. It's a pretty generic dual stick shooter, to be honest, with a slight twist in that you're flying around a spherical planet rather than just moving around a 2D plane. It's not a bad game, and it's worth playing if you already own everything else in that list, but I wouldn't consider it a top priority to nab a copy. I think it's pretty cheap now anyway considering how old it is.

Not quite.

I'd say they more or less dropped the ball with LittleBigPlanet 2.

The two reasons LBP was so innovative and unique was because #1, its amazing, physics-based control and #2, the insane textures of the levels (including the multiple layers of depth).

Both were pretty much scrapped in LBP 2 to make way for a bunch of half-assed game types. Any fighting, FPS, or RPG level created on LBP 2 is nothing more than half-assed and nothing special.

As far as I'm concerned, LBP is the greatest platformer of all time. And instead of staying a platformer, the developers decided to make LBP 2 into a half-assed "everything" game. Half-assed "everything" ... equals NOTHING.

LBP 2 retained neither of the two qualities that make the first one such a critical and commercial hit. They catered only to the user-generating aspect of the series .... the aspect that I personally don't find all that appealing. I'd much rather go through the beautiful and captivating (both gameplay and visuals) story of LBP than play any of LBP 2's half-assed crap.

The first LittleBigPlanet, the developers created something that can only be described as "the past meeting the future," as one critic put it. The game engine is unprecedented and the level design/textures/visuals are simply mesmerising. Made for a FANTASTIC platformer.

LBP 2? Really just a lazy attempt at a game. Instead of doing what its predecessor did, all the sequel does is force people to create their own crappy versions of different game genres and then play each other's crap. Crappy FPSs, crappy fighters, really crappy RPGs, and other various crap. What a concept ... make money without ever actually having to MAKE anything. Force the players to do it themselves, and most people are too dumb to realize it anyway.

If they ever decide to make a LittleBigPlanet 3 (and SCE would be stupid not to), I really hope they return the series to its roots and create pretty, innocent platforming levels. Simple and BETTER. Instead of whatever the hell LBP 2 is supposed to be.

I have Stardust HD, Wipeout, and Infamous. I will get LBP. I also will get Infamous to have a digital copy since I have no interest at all in Dead Nation.

lol really? 80 gigs of space and you need to ask that? Of course, thats plenty of room. How much space do you think a game is these days? If 80 gigs wasn't enough, then they would come on a LOT of blu ray discs.

For people who have none of them, I recommend Infamous and LittleBigPlanet. However, unfortunately for me, I just recently got Infamous so I could play something during the PSN outage. :| So I'll probably get LittleBigPlanet and something else. I'm leaning towards Wipeout HD + Fury, because I already like the series, and I've tried the demo for Wipeout HD and enjoyed it, and the Fury expansion got some great reviews. I tried the Super Stardust HD demo and while it was fun, I could see myself getting bored of it quickly. I also wasn't really considering Dead Nation but everyone says it's really good, especially normal players (the review scores were "good").

Here's where I need help. How long will it take to beat Dead Nation, and is it better than, say, Dead Ops Arcade in Black Ops? I'm pretty sure the Wipeout package will last me longer because of the online modes, and I don't see myself going online to play Dead Nation after I've beaten it already. As far as I know, none of my friends have it.

I disagree. Although it is true that a lot of the games made were pretty bad, even if you only want to play platforming levels, there are still way more options to make them. The other games types like FPSs and RPGs are just a little bonus to me. Plus, you can play any level from the original LittleBigPlanet.
