GT5 Prolouge is the best simulator, but I didn't quite get a great 'racing' feel out of it. The most realistic racing experience I've had on the ps3 so far is Superstars V8 Racing Next Challange, not a game with a lot of content sure (only 11 tracks and maybe 8 or 9 differentmodels of car), and graphics could be better, sounds nice albeit very genericbut it performs well in terms of racing simulation and the tracks on offer are picture perfect. You can modify pretty much every aspect of your car mechanically speaking and it really does make a noticable difference unlike other games whre you can change settings but not really notice the affects. Online suffered no lag either, for me at least. Damage modeling can be realistic at times but most of the time I found myself taking bighits and showingno damage but then I'd take a little shunt and my windows explode????Grid was fun and you can modify some of the settings to get a sim feel out of it adding bathurst as a track was a good touch, but i wasn't impressed with NFS Shift it was trying to do too many things at once and not concentrate enough on any, Dirt 2 was not a sim at all really but very good graphics and damage modeling. Nascar 09 is a good simulator as well but it seemed a bit basic... can't quite put my finger on it something was missing... passion maybe EA? Haven't played any F1 games but I'd like to see how they fair, F1 is not usually my favourite form of motorsport.
Need for Speed: Shift. With the camerain the driver's perspectiveI've never played a more realistic racing game
Do you want a cookie for bumping a 2yr old topic?
GTR12
Maybe he wasn't around 2 years ago on Gamespot!
Don't get Grid, that's about as arcadey as it gets. When I finished it and started playing another racing game, I had to learn how to slow down before entering a corner - because that's a concept that basically doesn't exist in Grid.
Need For Speed Shift is pretty good, IF you set the physics on professional and the AI drivers on hard. I switched back and forth between that game and GT5 Prologue and the difference wasn't all that big at all.
