best rpg game for the psp?

lol, i need some ideas on what rpg game to get this friday. i would get final fantasy but SADLY the release date is so far away..

so any ideas?

I agree 100% with everything youve said. Valkyrie Profile (I assume thats what VK stands for) is really good, its taken me awhile to get into it, some things took awhile to figure out, but now that Im into it, it is pretty cool.

 Xmen legends 2 was also pretty good, for an action RPG. Id imagine that Marvel UA is as well (since it is supposed to be very similar to XL2).

Then Dungeon Siege is great if you like hack n' slash. It pwn3s Untold legends imo.

Have any of you guys played Phantasy Star 2, 3, and 4?  I'm contemplating getting "Sega Genesis Collection" for the PSP...my main deciding factor is whether Phantasy Star is any good or not.  So, I would like to get some of your comments on the series.  How do Phantasy Star 2-4 compare to the earlier installments of Final Fantasy?  I finished FF4 (GBA) and is currently FF5 (GBA).  I enjoyed them both.  So, would I like Phantasy Star or would it be a disappointment after playing FF?

Well I have the Sega Genesis  Collection and have only gotten around to playing Phantasy Star 4, and it's a really good game.  I can't really tell you a lot about it since I've only played for like an hour, but so far I can't put it down.  I highly recommend it:)  And you won't be disappointed after having played the FF series:D

Right now, there's nothing much on the PSP to judge... Valkyrie Profile is a good game... but I expect Crisis Core and FFT: LW to be way superior!michelle_moraes

The best game rpg for the psp is untold legands warriors code. It doesnt look good at first but its really good expensialy the graphics there amazing. good gameplay too.;)tictac1000

Yeah great game seriously it is !! Also, Brotherhood of the blade, slightly older, still awesome, is wicked too !! Pick 'em both up !!

I have to disagree about both of the untold legends games. They aren't aweful, but aren't particularly great either. If you want a hack n' slash/ action RPG, Ive heard that Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony is better, but haven't played it myself. However, I do recommend Xmen Legends 2, Its alittle differen't than the untold legends games, but still the same basic idea and much much better. Just my opinion though.

I didnt like untold legends at all: bad story, tedious action, poor character development... below avarage for me

X-men L 2 is quite okay, but it didnt really feel like an rpg & it had some annoying loading times every now and then

Best one i played so far would be Tales of Eternia.

Seems i still have to try out VK & Dungeon Seige, although most reviews weren't too enthousiastic about those games

Although it has some RPG elements, it is not a "True to form" RPG that PSP users are so thirsty for.

Tales of eternia, is absolutley best, it reminds me the old skool JRPG's

Valkyrie Profile is a great game, but it gets boring after a while.

The thing is alot of people don't import, so they don't have access to this game (in the US)

Ya, but this game released a PAL version, so it is as import-friendly as possible, but some people still just dont do it, whether its from lack of knowlege, or preceived difficulty.

Anyone try the Legend of Heroes rpgs?  I am just curious.  They get some pretty bad ratings all together.ArmoJan

The Legend of Heroes games are all right. They're not quite as bad as everyone makes them out to be, but overall it is just an okay RPG. I beat the first and am halfway through the second.

Verdict: Get it if you NEED to have some JRPG action.
