The repair comes to around $193 and then selling it would yield a $50 or so profit. I can sell it to a local pawn shop that'll just scrap it for parts for $60. That's probably what I'm gonna do as there really isn't anything I can do with it.
Shell out $45 for both a heating gun which is $30 and Artic Silver compound which is $15 and follow one of thos "FIX YLOD Video Guides" in youtube (I've done it and worked seemingsly). Once you get your working ps3 again, eBay it for $320 and purchase your Slim. Atleast, that's what I'll do.

Then that PS3 is gonna break anywhere between a week and a few months. Reflowing it and adding new thermal paste is by no means a permanent fix. I wouldn't feel right doing that to some guy :S
