Not looking good for this game. first poor impressions from E3... now this:

http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/07/17/beyond-two-souls-is-beyond-two-souls-still-hard-to-control

i think i am definitely going to hold off on this game until i see reviews. expecting a 6.5-7 metacritic average.

I've played and loved many games that received mediocre reviews.  It's all a personal opinion.

No surprise really, I don't think anyone watched the demos and said the gamplay looks fun.  Sadly, I'll put this game on the backburner until a price drop or two, as I can't justify full price to go through the motions for gameplay just for the story.  Plus, it seems like this game is just a mess of genres thrown together but all controlled mainly through quick time events, which really aren't fun.  I know the devs are all about games not having to rely on action/violence but they've contradicted themselves a lot with this game by having the first demo of the game have a lot of stuff blow up and now the demo talked about in the IGN video is all about action yet they're stuck on forcing weird QTE rather than more traditional shooting mechanics.

I feel if you liked/loved Heavy Rain there is no reason that this game will be any different. The controls werent awesome in Heavy Rain but the game was doable none the less. So its still going to be a great game as far as im concerned. Just a little bit of a learning curve. Get used to it or move on and miss out *Kanye Shrugs*

the difference is though, that the controls in Heavy Rain werent bad... they were just QTEs that you had to react to. apparently Beyond has legitimately bad controls.... just controls that make your hands have to go into contortions to perform basic functions like sprinting. and controls that have you pressing certain combinations that dont seem to make any sense.

the other issue, and possibly more concerning, is that reports are also saying that the game just isnt any fun. Greg even comments on it in that video. he seems to really not be enthused at all about the game, and anyone that has watched more than 5 seconds of Greg footage knows that the guy is always excited about everything.

at this point i would tell just about anyone to hold off on the game at launch and see what the reviews look like.

Haha, I wouldn't trust Greg's opinion on anything. Reviews won't stop me from playing the game either. It's a game that looks original and genuinely interesting. I'll play it and decide for myself if I like it.

I loved Heavy Rain and my ONLY issue with the game were the areas where my hands did have to go into contortions, as you mentioned.  I was wishing that was something they recognized and corrected.  I have a sad face now, if it's true.

Respect. He also said this is a game that youll probably have to get into from beginning to the end...not just a little demo from here to there. Its something different for sure. If it is unplayable it is what it is. I know what youre saying about Greg Miller. Im just saying it seems you only caught negativity and thats it. I watched the same video you did. Yes, Golfarb(sp?) didnt enjoy it and it made it "unplayable" for him....and maybe youll feel that way too. It wont stop it from possibly being a great game to many others i suppose. Fallout/Elder Scrolls, for instance are games I really cant get into to save my life. Yet, i respect that it is a great game and worthy of its praise. It its not your game its not, we all have our own taste do we not? Surprising to see a guy on the internet not bash you for having a different opinion than his own huh? lol.
