hey peeps, just looking for some help here as i bought bf3 a while back and used my online pass on my fat ps3 and it got fried a few weeks later after a severe lightning storm as the surge protector it was plugged into failed....

i have since bought a new slim ps3,is it possible to transfer my online pass to my new ps3? cause i tried typing it in and it was no longer valid and i cant play online.

my old ps3 is done for, even the hard drive wiped.

I would assume so, I was just playing AC Revelations on my account at my friend's house. If ur using the same PSN, it should work as the UPlay pass for online worked for me on his PS3. He has a slim, I have a fat. BF3 should work as well.

It's all linked to your PSN. You can even redownload it from your Download History on PSN.

yeah ive got the same psn id i was using to play bf3,it downloaded all the extra weapons, dog tag etc for buying the limited edition but when i go to multiplayer it gives me 2 options of either redeeming my online pass code or purchase a online pass for $15,when i put my code in it says its invalid. so i got no idea wtf is going on.

I think u need to buy it again because the psn pass code works only for one console.

the add-ons,games,etc.. all now works in 2 consoles only in the past it was 5 but sony changed it to 2.

so now u can't download these stuff in third console if this one break up.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/325065/psn-downloads-will-now-be-restricted-to-2-devices/

about the old games u bought before 18 novamber the new rules doesn't affect it but if u buy new game it will be only for 2 devices

about the pass code I am not 100% sure of it for now but that I think this is how it works because of people who buys used games.

if u have a friend he could buy from u the used game then u give him ur account to activate the online, like this u would be able to play online with used game which is some thing sony don't wanna it to happen thats why I think u can't play online until u buy a new psn pass code ,u can contact the customer support.

That 1st part of your answer is sort irrelevant to the question at hand. That had to do with addressing "game sharing" and limiting to 2 consoles instead of 5 so people wouldn't try to "share" games to multiple friends. This guy isn't talking about 5 consoles, just transferring from one to another.

As to the other part, you are wrong. The online pass is tied to your account. Like someone else said you should even be able to re-download it if necessary - without paying. He *MIGHT* have to de-activate his old PS3 through customer service if this was his 3rd or 4th PS3, but if this is just his 2nd console he shouldn't even have to do that. (it's still probably a good idea to de-activate the dead console though, just so he doesn't have to worry about it later).

I am just showing him how psn works now a days in the 1st part.

in the 2nd part if I am mistaken let him go and re download it again if he can't then he contact the customer support.

finally u might be right about deactivating the console before u download the same thing in a 2nd console.

hey man I found one the faq in EA that saying this ,I hope u didn't trade ur copy back.

What happens if my console dies or is lost or stolen?
If you have already redeemed the code from your game manual or purchased Online Pass access, you will be able to access online features from any console using the same Xbox 360 gamertag or PlayStation 3 persona. You may need to go to the 'my downloaded content' section in Xbox LIVE Marketplace or PSN Store to re-download your EA SPORTS Online Pass.
