Compare these videos http://www.fz.se/nyhetsarkiv/?id=36616and http://www.gametrailers.com/video/objective-teamwork-quake-wars/25991

They could be talking about the same game with the exception that one was released 2007 and the other will be released 2010.

there nothing alike in the regard of et:qw talents; et:qw has a modus of action that can be seen as similar to battlefield series, but the character classes have a larger role and function on the terrain in et:qw.they are both objective based, and that is positive; besides killzone2,r2,and mw2: how many console games do you know of that are objective based?would you say objective based games are all knockoffs?or are they of a genre within fps?to be respected i hope?

 when will you realize that at this point pretty much every game released is similar to another game already out there... the point is that BFBC2 does it better than Quake Wars... and thats all it matters..

Is this post serious? Yeah they share some of the same stuff but the one from 2010 is not going to suck on the consoles.

They talk about like "BF:BC is introducing this great new a idea..." Class based team play. It's not the team with the best shooters its the one with the best team work. This falling back to the next area is a shame full rip-off ass well

actually battlefield already "introduced this great idea" back in 2002, so yeah it is nothing new, the only cool new addition would be people who actually play as a team... :) this year i want a new system including intelligent team players... :P

edit: ..."The game marked a turning point in first-person shooters towards teamwork objectives rather than deathmatch play."...

No they introduced conquest mode. There is a difference between a shameless rip-off and a borrowed idea

Does it really matter. You're taking things way too far. If the game is fun who care. Quake wars was terrible on the consoles. BC2 will give us a great team based game to play.

so according to this train of thought, there is only one original fps and its rip-offs with their twists on the same genre, just like there is only a soccer game, a basketball game, etc etc since they all have a certain set of rules, which do not change... come on, life is not only about benchmarking, tbh if you want to win in any online game (other than ffa) you do need a good team, preferrably communicating with eachother... if you want you can always classify some game as a clone of some other (in some cases it will even be true), however do bear in mind that bf is one of the first series to offer objective based play which does encourage team interaction... come on games, do not imitate space invaders... :P

I think its worth noting that they are implementing a great game mechanics for encouraging team work. In only a few hours of demo play I noticed way more team play than anything I've become accustom too. At any rate, try and catch some of the BC2 PR releases, a lot of them mention the capability for a well-oiled squad of four to be more than capable of changing the tide of battle for a 12 on 12 match. I like the sound of that. No way its a ripoff, BF started the implementation of classes way before other genres, which is the foundation for any party/squad/teamwork based game.

I wonder what the first video game with a gun was...I guess every video game with a gun afterwards copied off of it :? Just because they're similar doesn't mean they copied off of the other.
