Bioshock 2 Inquiry

When you purchase health upgrades do they automatically take effect or do I have to "turn them on" Somehow? I've purchased several but the health bar doesn't appear to increase in size. I assumed I could just take more damage but I'm starting to doubt that now since it doesn't take much to get my health down as I progress.

what are u refering to as health upgrades? its been aq while since i have played. were they plasmids? or medpacks? plasmids have to equipped to get any benefit and to use medpacks u have to hit the correct buttton on the controller (though i wish it were automatic to use them....)

You can buy them with ADAM. You can also buy EVE upgrades and plasmid upgrades.

You don't need to activate them, that would be dumb lol...

The bars do get bigger on my copy...

Hmm. Maybe I just didn't notice because it still seems like I can die pretty easily.
