i'm currently playing through the single player portion of BioShock 2 & it's fun as hell, just like the first. i just arrivedin Siren Alley. i wonder what awaits me there. anyway, what are your opinions on BioShock 2? & how's the multiplayer? does it have a sizeable community? b/c i am hoping to hop into multiplayer to get the trophies after i'm done w/ the single player so that i can get the platinum. so, what are your thoughts on the game? did it live up to the hype?

i loved Bioshock 2's campaign mode, their multiplayer mode is fun, but gimmicky (like the single player's controls and gameplay), remember its not COD so it will take some getting used to, but some of the modes are dead, except team deathmatch (i forgot what Bioshock 2 called it though) and Capture the Sister are active a lot

I bought it a while ago, but I've been so busy playing other games that I just haven't got around to it yet...3D Dot Game Heroes and Mass Effect 1 & 2 have been pretty much all I've been playing for the past week or two.

Bioshock 2>>Bioshock 1. i had a blast playing it. and it had very solid multiplayer to boot. the combat was better than the original and the story was almost as good. the only negative about the game is that it felt a little too familiar. part of the charm of the original Bioshock was how fresh Rapture was...completely unique. Bioshock 2 couldn't have that, but in my opinion it more than made up for it. Other negatives could be the 60$ price tag for an 8 hour game. but i've seen worse.

I love Bioshock 2, more than the first, only just. Second favourite game of all time!! :D

Multiplayer was fun for a few hours, but after that, I got bored.

I thought it was great and it was nice going back to Rapture, but it was the most pointless game I have ever played in my life.

There was absolutely no need for a sequel, now a prequel would have been an entirely different story. Hell Bioshock 2 was not even made by 2k Boston (irrational gamer?).

Another thing I do not understand is why some people feel Bioshock 2 is better then the first installment. I understand the whole "opinion" thing and I respect that, but how could someone say B2>B1 when B2 was so unnecessary, Venom :P.

Honestly, I got it a couple days after it released and I had been looking forward to it for over two years. I got it... and then I didn't play it for almost two months. I had heard some bad things and I didn't want to be let down because I LOVED the first one. I finally got around to playing it and I can honestly say I still love Bioshock. It definitely wasn't as good as the first, but it still had its own sort of feel. I personally thought the multiplayer was a lot better than I expected. Its hard to find a match a lot of times, but once you get into a game, you could stay there forever. I really enjoyed the game overall and think it definitely did the first justice. Enjoy playing through! Its a great game.

Without a doubt it's a fun game. I wasn't a huge fan of the online, but that's just because the campaign was so enthralling, and the online is just so dry. I did like how they connected it to the story though, that was pretty interesting to me. I don't know if it's better than the first, but it definitely does it justice.

I didn't really like the first one, I thought the second was a big improvement in all areas. Story, gameplay, characters, defending little sisters made a lot of the useless trap plasmids from the first game something you might actually want to use, and the multiplayer was fun for a little while.

I thought the story and characters in Bioshock were bad and I thought they were average in Bioshock 2.

I don't think it was pointless at all, and knowing the developers are going to make it a series makes me feel even better. Bioshock 2 improved on everything Bioshock 1 set, and apart from the not-so-memorable characters, it was perfect!

In what ways did it improve the story of the first though? or how did it tie in with the first? Cause thats what I hate about B2, it improves combat but it was the furthest thing away from a sequel ever.

What I really didn't like about BioShock 2's story is that there was no big twist to it like there was in the first.

I loved Bioshock 2... One of my favourite games ever. I think Bioshock 1 had the better story but Bioshock 2 was better in every other way.

I thought it was a really great game especially with what it had to work with.

Great atmosphere? Thrilling combat? Check.

Awesome characters? Original story? Check.

The single player was IMO equal to Bioshock 1, if both were placed on a scale for their pros/cons.

+The online is really slick. I reached max level and got my platinum, something I rarely do.
