Wow, that question actually stumped me. Darn, I think I'd have to say Final Fantasy because obviously they have more games in the series. Bioshock is in it's own league. That was the first game I played that actually had me in suspense in the story. Meanwhile in Final Fantasy, the story is just too well written, it almost gives that realistic effect to some extent, but that's just me.
I'm talking about any Final Fantasy you want bro.Are you talking about Final Fantasy as a series or a specific one?

How are Final Fantasy games being long a bad thing? Do you have an attention span about 6 hours long at most? Aren't people always **** about how games are too short? Jesus. Make up your mind people.
Well, look at Final Fantasy VII. It's freaking long. THREE DISCS!!How are Final Fantasy games being long a bad thing? Do you have an attention span about 6 hours long at most? Aren't people always **** about how games are too short? Jesus. Make up your mind people.

Have you never played an RPG (or JRPG) before? People dish out anywhere from 40 - 300 hours on those type of games. Just because a game is long doesn't mean it's a borefest.

I never said that. I actually like Final Fantasy, I just like Bioshock better.[QUOTE="vicekingz"][QUOTE="n33d2skate"] Well, look at Final Fantasy VII. It's freaking long. THREE DISCS!!n33d2skate

Everyone now thinks I hate FF!!!!haha soo true.. i try not to show my love towards it 0=)

I'd have to say FF VII (choosing one because you didn't specify), its the most popular one and the story is great. Its probably the most popular RPG of all time, and despite Bioshock doing so many great things, FF VII is classic. I love Bioshock so much, and its definitely going down in history as one of the best games ever, but FF as a series has done too much.
So why are you posting? These topics are really full of lol when its a this or that game thread why do people always say one when they havent played both? Just keep out if you havent played both sheesh. Its not helping by saying: "well i only played resistance so i prefer that to killzone" or "I liked infamous demo more than uncharted so infamous gets my vote for the better game". Just stop it. Why do so much people do this? If you so want to raise your post count then do it on one of those threads like "which game is currently in your systrem" "what song are you listening to right now" & "how did you last die in a video game"well i only played the demo for bioshock and wasn't super impressed, so FF

FFX is my favorite game of all-time so I give the edge to FF there, but BioShock was amazing. I've never seen an FPS deliver that kind of story. The gameplay was great and the whole atmosphere really draws you into it. It really kept me hooked. It's definitely one of my top 3 games this gen. (along with MGS4 and Fallout 3).
I've never played a Final Fantasy game but I have played BioShock so I will say BioShock.chathuranga>_> Lol ok i give up you all win. *awaits 100 more replies like this*
I'm pretty sure he doesn't speak for the wider community, nor do they speak for him. I find that the majority of FF games are too long, I've finished the majority of them, but the monotony of grinding makes me take breaks that last up to weeks from the game. How are Final Fantasy games being long a bad thing? I love how you haven't actually answered the question while you are complaining about other people's responses. Cyberirony is safe and impersonal.
As for me I have played FF IV, VII, VIII, IX, X and XII and Bioshock and would have to lean towards the Final Fantasy franchise, only because the emotional scope is broader in FF. In Bioshock you are scared and angry. This happens all the time in FF, however you are also overjoyed, curious, ambitious, greedy, in love, in hate, jealous, proud.. etc. etc. Just more going on.
But come on.. the FF series is like 500 hours long back to back.. more if you dig in.
[QUOTE="vicekingz"]I'm talking about any Final Fantasy you want bro. Is this what the new generation of ps fanbase has become? Is this why there is not many jrpgs out this gen? I am 30 and love the ff series have since ff1 and comparing it a shooter is just blasphemy! Are you talking about Final Fantasy as a series or a specific one?

I can understand not liking a genre...i can't stand twitch based shooters like halo and gears...oh wait...maybe it's just xbox games i can't stand....lol. Anyway, have you ever tried a rpg? If you havent' you should try a game like Demon's Souls, when it comes out, its not a traditional jrpg and you can play it like an adventure game...it's like monster hunter mixed with shadow of the collouasas with a gothic demonic atmosphere. then there's fallout 3 you can play it like a shooter if you want to.... but it has great story..

Nope, never tried playing a RPG. I don't like games like Halo, Gears, Resistance, or Killzone, either (Or FPS games in general except of course BioShock). Not a big fan of going around as space marines shooting aliens.
Both of them are nearly completely different, one is part horror and action while the other is a pure RPG. IMO, Bioshock is better.

L O LEasiley Final Fantasy, bioshock is good but Final Fantasy is much better.
I really don't see bioshock lasting for another 15 titles and a couple a hundred spin offs, I can however see Final Fantasy doing another 15 titles with a couple a hundred more spin offs.
I've never played a Final Fantasy game so Bioshock win by default. Though I think it would regardless, the Final Fantasy series looks too girly.
Final Fantasy would win by default. There have been way more games in the series than there has been for bioshock. People claimingthey haven't played Final Fantasy really have no right to comment.Just like I don't have the right to comment either since I haven't played Bioshock.
