Blu Ray won't make games longer!

Resistance is like 11GB or something, There is plenty o' room left. Dunno about Uncharted and HS but how do you know how much room is left on them anywayjtickner

I think 25 and 50GB discs is more than enough to make games longer than HS or Uncharted, even with all languages in it. It's all up to the developers to make the games longer.lusitanogamer

It doesn't make games longer, but it offers more spaces for content (more detailed textures, models, sound, etc).

Back in the day, a game that filled one diskette (I mean the square things... remember? :P) could easily give you enough gameplay for several hours, but it had to step aside and make space for CD-ROM as technology evolved and games got more ambitious... see what I'm getting at?

I love PS3 because is region free and 25gb of space are really more than enough also with 10 different languages! 360's region free games are on 8gb and there is also a lot of space more!

Because for some dumb reason Sony made the PS3 region free and that means every game needs to have like 10 different languages on them, look at heavenly Sword and Uncharted so after they put the game, and put all the audio in EVERY different language onto the disk there isn't a whole lot of room left, why did Sony do this!?catlin_czirr

Region Free does not mean all the versions of the Game have the same content. If you by a game in Region 1 it will only be in english and the occasional French and Spanish. It's not like Euro Regions. The games work on all PS3, but the content is different. This is just a stupid topic which makes no sense.Macri

The ignorance of the OP is quite overwhelming, and thus agree that he is a troll.
- Just because americans don't gain benefit of region free games (bar JP only) doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't

- If a game is going to be short it won't be due to a lack of space, funds, development time, and other, bigger issues

- If a game (magically) runs short on space, every language doesn't have to be loaded just because it's region free, a company can decide to just release a certain language in a certain country. Although not the same scenario, GT5 prologue is region free, but in Japanese only.

yeah, i know the game brings more audio than the one we play with, but that's not the point. The Blu ray has so much space that they can put that all in and much more. That's good to limit production costs, instead of making specific versions of the game for every country, they can make only one version and distribute it everywhere. and don't forget, like other people said, there's no worldwide releases... so if i want to get a game from the US, Japan or whatever I go and get it.

umm did you flip because of how short the other metal gear games were? i think i beat metal gear 3 in like 12 hours or so... they aint rpgs...

Besides audio takes up very little space compared to HD video, high res textures, etc... i would stop worrying if I were you. Besides, would you rather play games that come on 4-5 dvds like the 360? i didnt think so...

Isn't blu ray constantly updated? They are working on a 200GB disk. Who knows, one day, they might come out with a disk that can hold a terabyte. I wouldn't be too concerned about disk space...
