I haven't so far but i just got my ps3 this month. I will take advantage of the 5 free movies. and i plan to start buying some bluray movies adter that. RedMarzBoy
i think maybe that if there was a huge graphics boost in movies, or some action movies where the explosions are just that much better that i would consider buying blue-ray movies, but unless theres not much better, it just looks a tiny bit better...then theres no point in paying the extra 10 bucks per movie...btw when you say five free movies does that mean when you buy the ps3 you just get to pick 5 movies out?

I buy them. I only have Saw 3 and just got 300 today. I do plan on getting more as they get around to releasing the back catalogs from the studiosgundamfan80
I have to admit, since buying my PS3 in January, 300 is my first Blu Ray, i will prob start buying more as well
I don't know what movie you saw, but the difference between a DVD and a blu-ray movie is BIG.
HOWEVER it is true that certain movies have had a bad conversion from dvd to blu-ray and don't give a significant boost in quality, but movies like Pirates of the Carribean 1 & 2, Apocalypto, Corpse Bride, Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven and two dozen more are much crisper, cleaner and have a better, nicer feel to them than their DVD-counterpart.
But to see the boost in graphics you obviously need an HD tv.
I have Casino Royale (which came free), Black Hawk Down, Con Air, Broken Arrow and Ghost Rider. I will be buyig more but I won't be buying blu rays of films i already have on dvd.deepbluecrystal
I love Con Air, how does it look on the blue-ray dvd? If it's any good, I'll buy it too.
I also plan to buy the Planet Earth series from amazon. I rented it from blockbuster, and it looked so amazing on blue-ray dvd.
Got Casino Royale with the PS3 and expecting Apocalypto in the post any day now

That was my first Blu-Ray movie and damn it's impressive. I was skeptical about how much better they would be but Apocalypto looks amazing. I got 300 and The Departed since then.
The thing that Apocalypto that blew me away was how detailed it was and how it was displaying in FULL SCREEN on a 56in TV. Look for movies that have 1:85 display on the back. 300 doesn't so you get the widescreen bars.
Also what are the best settings to run Blu-Ray movies on in your PS3 display settings for the best performance?
i have a movie theater in my basement and no i havent bought any, just cant bring myself to spend 35 bucks, 25 i can do, like i diod buy beerfest, but id like to wait until th e price decreases a bitstevesurdaddy12
Stevesurdaddy where are you shopping for blurays? go to amazon most new high profile blurays are only around $25 or less.... dont buy at circuit city or best buy... they're still a ripoff

Yeah, Amazon is the way to go.
GS is making me angry, it's being extremely glitchy today.
yeah, I don't know why people keep saying there's not a huge difference it is HUGE. At least if you watch it on a 1080p tv with the hdmi cable for the ps3.SquareRocksI've watched them on a standard tv and there is still a noticeable difference, especially in audio.
I buy them all the time. I have about 30 right now. While the step up in video quality is nice on Blu-Ray, the uncompressed audio formats are even better, if you have the right setup, of course.
Anyone that says they dont see a huge difference needs to consider a tv upgrade. The difference between dvd and blu-ray is as big as the difference between vhs and dvd on my sharp aquos 42" 1080p tv. I have Mission Impossible 1,2,3, Terminator 2, Kung Fu Hustle, Reign of Fire, Silent Hill, Casino Royale, and 300, and they all own. And for those who complain about the price, new dvd's are 15-20 and at bestbuy/circuit city/fye blu-rays are dicounted upon release making them 20-25 so its a 5$ difference usually. Also, learn to use EBAY! Lol. I got the mission impossible collection new for 42$. Silent hill for $15 new. Reign of fire and kung fu hustle for $10 each new.
In summary there is a big difference if you have a tv that can take full advantage of blu-ray and they are not expensive if you are a smart shopper.
I just bought The Host. If something comes out that I really want to see I just buy it because new releases have long waits at Netflix and Blockbuster online, and the blockbuster stores usually are checked out and new titles come a week late or so.
I've been trying to get my hands on the remastered version of The Fifth Element that was released a few weeks ago. You can tell it's the new one with the "Experience HD" at the bottom is reflective silver instead of gray, and it having dolby TrueHD on the back. Best Buy just doesn't carry it, Circuit City and Target have the old ones (which there is a program to exchange it if you bought one of those) and I have a gut feeling renting online will just get me the old copy.
