is it worth getting blu ray movies if i only have a standard definition tv? im really curious to see their high quality but im afraid that theyll just be the same as a dvd on my tv.

Well given most countries will be turning off SD signals in 2-4years id say you could wait a year or 2 and get the cheap HDTVs which the govts will force on the consumers... unless you're in the US where they dont care about DTV.

bluray on SDTV = same as DVD... not worth it

In terms of visual inhancements, you probably won't see a difference on the regular tvsbut if you have a commendable sound system, though, you'll notice a huge difference in the quality & the detail of the movie's sound.

ohh sweet i do have a kick ass sony surround system with a sweet amplifier i guess ill buy one and try it out with my ps3.
