Borrowed A PS3 and IT Just Bust!!

any advise?

the only cause I can think of is playing too long on it - up to 3 am this morning playing Assassins Creed 2 - now the system crashes every time I start a game

It's not even my PS3 - the owner's gonna probably be pissed ? guess I got to buy a new one right? that would be embarrassing ...

got any plans?

Man. Sounds like bad luck to me. But you say it crashes every time you start a game. So it doesn't turn off by itself when you start it up right? Because if it does and there's a yellow light followed by a blinking red one the system is pretty much history.

Is the PS3 reading any of your Games, DvDs?

Because it might be a problem with the lens

ok now an update - It's only Modern Warfare 2 that makes the system crash - literally as I start the game the whole system goes ape

Assassins Creed 2 works fine - does that mean it's the disc? the PS3 is making some funky sounds ...

No, it freezes each time I load MW2, theres no yellow light

Do they still sell the big fat chunky ones? or is all the PS3 slim version now ?

DUDE THAT SUCKS!!! Of course thats gonna look bad on you, my advice tell the truth of what happend actually you should of told him as SOON when this happend.. I don't even know why you are busy even writing on the fourm call him NAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because if I was the owner and you didn't tell me my ps3 did that I probably would of been madder currently then I would have been if you told me when it first happend..because it seems like you are guilty of something..

I happened to me and now i have the slim model. Its really unfortunate that it decided to die while in your possession. It was going to die soon anyway. Hopefully its just something temporary and may be fixed by a new system update or better still maybe its just the game. Anyhow just might want to talk to sony about it so you can get professional advice so your friend doesn't need to find out.

if you ask me it is a set up. No one lets someone borrow a ps3. I bet it has been broke. Or it just decided to die on you.

At least its not YLOD. That would suck big time. Was MW2 working fine before?
