I decided to buy a console fora little bit of gaming last week, and got the PS3. I've been having fun, and loving the PS3, but Iturned on the PS3 last night and it came up with a blue screen stating something was corrupt, and to press X. I pressed X and it went to a black screen. Now the PS3 will not connect with the controller or turn off without unplugging the power adapter from the DC Jack. I picked up a PS3 slim.....is this a common thing with the slims (Especially after a week of use? I'm going to exchange it out though, just worried this might happen again... :(

I've got a Slim and so far I haven't encountered serious problems. I've only experienced freezing while online and console turning off randomly.

WOW.. I must have a great PS3 I leave it on sometimes for Hours or over night if I forget to turn it off. It froze on me 3 times over the last 2 months. SO I do not know. I hope it lasts for years to come like my PS2 has.

Weird. You should definitively go to the store and exchange it for another.

Very uncommon. I've had it freeze using the browser but that's it. Now I don't ever use the browser but that's not what the PS3 was made for haha. You probably had a rare but defective PS3.
