Yes, but you will need a Network Configuration disc or a game that has it on it.  Or if you have a Memory Card Adapter you could transfer your Network Config from you PS2 memory card over to your PS3.

MGS3 was working fine (I never had the PS2 adaptor so I started only when I had a PS3), but now they closed the servers. :(
