I'm hearing so many good things about Brink. The fluid movement over obstacles, without just jumping, is a huge step forward for FPS's. Story seems great, graphics look sharp, features look really appealing. So, why would many think and feel that it's not greater than the current state of COD games in gaming? Just wondering.

its just empty skepticism. kind of a fear of looking outside the box maybe, or maybe just dont realize that bethesda is one of the most talented developer/publisher in the game right now. I think the game looks awesome. I love the movement and wish that werecoming outsooner. COD is too established for some reason. I knew this when so meathead was in the gym about to crap his pants over the new Call of Duty, just the way he probably does for Madden each year. Pointless.

Brink looks awesome and the developer has a good track record, but it's still unproven. Let's wait until the game is out to see which is better - and that will still depend on your opinion.

Makes complete sense. I got COD Black Ops and played multi-player, after I beat the game on hard. I did an hour or so a day for about a month but it just got tiring to me. Still fun, but never understand why people treat it like it's the best game ever. I think Brink will be a much better game. But you don't see, one genre personalities, pissin' themselves over it.

Oh well everyone has an opinion, not sayin they have good taste though. I have pretty high hopes for the game. Not to sound like im just knockin COD of but it has nothing a video game should tome. You cant jump and shoot(which is awesome abet unrealistic). No vehicles which are also awesome. People run around and do nothing for each other but occasionally shoot their teammate in which they act like it was just the most unforgivable thing ever. Brink has classes, i love class. It will have movement, which I guess you can run in COD. And it will give you reason to play, which other than talking with my friends while they play, i have never found much reason.

Everyone thinks any new fps is better than COD but then it ends up bad for the most part. Brink looks like borderlands tbh with a typical COD like (or any fps tbh) shooting style. I didn't find anything unique or things thatstood out

' I know, all my friends are like 'You got Black Ops? No?! It's only the bestest game evar!!' Blah blah blah, et cetera. It's ridiculous because it isn't even that great, yet people still see it as the best, whereas games like Brink (hopefully don't) get thrown in the trash bin, or praised quite a bit. If they are praised, the review is finished with 'But it isn't as good as CoD.'

I don't think just any FPS is better. I played Mag, Battlefield 2, and several others but Brink looks so much more interesting. For one, better game mechanics. In cod, if there's a marginal wall or obstacle that doesn't have a button command next to it, there's no way to get around it when it would be possible to scale it. I like fluid movement, and if it looks like Borderlands then what's wrong with that? Borderlands blows COD out of the water to me as game anyway. COD has got a high horse it shouldn't have. I like it, it's fun, but it's not the best out there. People follow what's the most popular and will love it and overlook most things. If you didn't find anything that stood out, go back and check out a beta game, or preview of the features.

COD is a good time waster is what it is. It takes no time to get into, you always have small little things blowing up on your screen telling you how awesome that little pointless thing you did was. To me that is partially the reason people like it, it is so reinforcing that it makes people feel like they are good at it. People that usually are not good at any other game play COD. And any one that is good at anything else is not good at COD because they get bored. It is so paper shallow that often in comparison i dont classify it as a game when stacked next to something like Halo or Borderlands, or just about any game in any genre. It doesnt help that sites like this one or Game Informer, with on most **** find they reviews to be really good, give these COD games such good reviews so that young angry men and women can go out, notice that everyone got it, get itthemself and then try and "rule faces" with little a few mean words to back up their lack of skill. And if they are good they just act like the biggest pieces of **** in the world. I know i may be venting and im doing this instead of typing my paper for class right now but COD is such a "BRO" game at times that it makes me wanna give up before i start.

Bethesda..... good track record, pls... the past few games they have released have been extremely buggy to say the least......IF anything they are constant in releasing a fun game that isn't fully playable til a month after release

The game is being developed by Splash Damage not Bethesda. Splash Damage made Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Quake Wars. Bethesda is the PUBLISHER. The other thing that gives me more hope is they are using the PS3 as the lead platform and had a PS3 private beta. Hopefully they've worked out all of the issues.
