I'm about to be the owner of a new PS3, and I can't afford to buy many games at the moment or anything brand new. I'm gonna wait till Christmas time and save some more cash first. Would do you guys recommend for a game that is in the $20-$30 range to pick up to keep me occupied for now? I have heard several people rave about Bioshock.
I know they are already on the PS2, but I'm actually really looking forward to the new GOW 1&2 collection in HD graphics. I think it should be great to replay.

Metal Gear Solid 4, Rachet and Clank tools of destruction, Burnout Paridise, Resistance: Fall of man, and if you can find it, Ninja Gaiden Sigma are all in the players choise line for a reason. the best part is they retail new for about $30, anywhere from $15-$25 used
Biohshock is honestly the best game I've played this gen. Amazing story, with a great unexpected twist near the end (that's all I'll say), the concept as a whole is very original, it has a few moments that make you jump too. I would highly recommend Bioshock if you haven't played it. Best game I've played in a long time.

I hate racing games. I'm all about Sports games, FP Shooters and a fun platformer once in awhile.
Man, if you could have splurged a little bit, you shoulda gone to Best Buy and gotten 3 games for $60 or less depending on what you got. I ordered Assasins Creed 1, Uncharted 1, and GTA IV and spent $60.
Also I created a thread earlier about Dark Sector being on sale for $5 on Amazon(US, not sure if it applies to anywhere else though), you could get that and Bioshock for under $25, great deal if you ask me.

Oh I forgot to mention I've seen Bioshock at many different places only running around $20 as well and if you're into shooters it's definitly a must have!
I'd go for fight night round 3 aswell if i was you, really cheap and imo better than round 4. Its great fun, requires skill (when on hard mode) and i find it really immersive.
