Will the XMB PS3 interface will be lost after installing a new HDD for the PS3?   I need to updates my PS3 all over again right?  Plus my save games files and movie trailers and song will be also be lost?

Will it affect my PSN and all of my R:FOM rating and score will be lost?

Please help........  Do you have to worry about a specific HDD for the PS3 like looking for serial numbers that will be compatible with the PS3 or all HDD are compatible with PS3..

anything that is stored on the HDD will be lost. game saves, demos, user accounts, etc. I believe you will also have to update again but I am not totally sure about that. The XMB will not be lost. just get a $20 USB memory stick, or SD card from a digital camera, and move everything from the old HDD. then install the new HDD, and move everything back.

But my user account still exist because it in the network, I just need to re enter it with password to bring it up right? Plus my R:FOM rating and score will not be lost because that also in the network? Or I have to do everything from the fresh.

those will not be lost because they are not stored on the HDD.

its cause the updates aren't stored on the hard drive there stored directly on the system
