If you have the PS2 component cables, you can use those. I think they retail for $5 less than the PS3 component cables, but they're essentially the same thing.

The wireless setup is as good as any wired setup(sometimes better because you don't have to worry about snaking wires through the attic, walls, or under the flooring when you can). As for the cable I used the component cable I had for the PS2 and it works like a charm. The beauty of backward compatibilities that Sony has.

The wireless is excellent but if your using a router you might want to remeber to put a WEP key on it as not to slow down bandwith

My ****** N1 wireless router travels a distance of 100 feet, through 5 walls, 2 microwaves, 2 wireless 2.4 ghz phones, and my sister to reach my PS3. Reception= 85%. That's pretty good. If you don't have ps2 component cables lying around, buy some cheap no names for the ps2.

Seeign as how th3 component cabels from Sony sell for only $20 that's cheap enough.
