- Online play, both ad-hoc & infrastructure, is free.
Check the back of the gameboc though to know if infrastructure is included

 - Unless you use a 3rd party program like xlink kai, which allows you to play any ad-hoc game online, you need to be in the near vicinity of your friends for wifi play.
Ofcourse if your game supports infrastructure mode, you can just go online in-game and play with anyone without a  3rd party program

- Not sure about the X360; you can connect the psp to a pc with a usb-cable & you can put music on your psps via your pc though 

Playing online is free! You do have to be in a certain distance to play with another gamer.(Thats Adhoc)

                                But you can play with people from around the world using Infrastructure.
