My friend doesn't want his PSP anymore (the first gen one... not the 2000 or 3000) so he is going to sell it to me for $40 bucks with 2 games (X-Men Legends 2, Star Wars Battlefront), charger, headphones, and some UMD videos. This is a good deal right? Or is the first gen PSP so totally worthless that he is okay with selling it to me for cheap?

You can look at it this way, with the cost of the extras you would be getting (the movies and the games and headphones) you'd be spending about 40 dollars on those alone. So if the PSP itself is still in decent functional order i'd say this is a damn good deal since essentially the system would be free if you're giving each thing he throws in other than the system as having a 10 dollar value. (10 dollars per game, 10 dollars per movie, 10 dollars for the headphones) saying 10 dollars because its a somewhat fair price for used items like that. At least a good thing to use till you can afford a newer slim or if you want a 3000 model in the future.

I forgot to mention that I told him I was going to give him the proceeds of Battlefront 2 and the Incredibles UMD when I sell them at GameSpot... so that will give him like... maybe 15 dollars back tops I think.

If the psp is in good working contidion its a fantastic deal, why would you think the phat is worthless?, its basically the same as the slim, except less ram and no tv out, if you are using it for gaming, music and video then you have a fantastic unit, im using the phat and wouldnt dream of upgrading the the slim or the 3000 series, absolutely no point, ill upgrade when mine one dies and not before.
