Buying advice from owners only please

Hey there, looking to buy a ps3 and currently have a 360 and wii but my nintendo is collecting dust and I'm getting rid of it and now I'm contemplating getting a ps3. Aside from a lack of games currently "which will be getting better shortly" are you guys happy with your purchase overall?

I've been happy with my purchase since day one (which was last christmas) and am still happy to this day. Yes there is a game drought, but that comes with the summer (or at least it has in the past few years) and I've just been getting the PS2 games that I couldn't afford then now because they're less than $10. lol

It won't offer you too much more than your 360 currently, but no one can argue the large list of exclusives on their way.

Today the darkness, tommaro R6 vagas. Next week ninga gaiden sigma. then a few weeks later ill prolly check out Nascar08. Then a little while after that warhawk. Then about 2 weeks later Lair comes out. Then the week after that Madden08 comes out(cant wait!!). Then the week after that i may check out GRAW2, but prolly not. and a couple weeks after that Heavenly sword and area 51 come out. And the week after that NHL08 comes out i might give ita try. Then Q4 starts and tonsss of great games come out, GTA4! among lots of others.

My PS3 has been in constant use. It hasn't frozen for a while because of patching. I use it as a quick way to get weather in the morning. The demos alone could hold you for a few days depending on how much you play. It replaced my PS2 and I still play some PS2 games. Resistance plays well if you like the weapons. Bluray has been used enough. Connected to PSP and it streamed video from the XMB to my PSP beautifully. So yes I'm satisfied.

Seeing as how you already have a 360, you may or may not get a lot of use out of your PS3 initially. I have both systems myself, and its been really hard for me to justify buying any games for my PS3 due to most of the ones available being available on 360 as well. Unless you really want Blu-Ray and PS2/PS1 BC, then there isn't much of a reason to get the PS3 right now if you already own the other system. Of course, you prefer the feel of a playstation controller better compared to an xbox controller, then that could also help you in your decision a bit. Most 3rd party games look and play the same on both consoles with only minor differences. The best thing about the PS3 for a multiconsole gamer are the upcoming exlusive games. Those are still a ways off though, but if you can get a PS3 now, then by all means it doesn't hurt to take the plunge now. Hopefully, you'll find something to play on it until some of its big hitters come out.

People who are unhappy with their system had unrealistic ideas forthe system in its first year stage. So they are people you don't need advice from about it. As an owner of the PS3 since Launch I am happy with my system and I knew what I would be getting as well as knew that it takes time for Sony to get the ball rolling. Great games are coming out in the next two months(if they come out on time) with a lot in the future. Yes its worth it, but if you wait long enough you might get it at a small price drop(if that actually happens). Either way its a great system like the others and a system that a true gamer would want to add to their collection.

Since you already have a 360 Isay wait until like Christmas to get it. I dont regret getting my ps3 but i do get bored of resistance and oblivion seeing that i bet them both and have had my ps3 since CHirstmas. You could wait till their are more game for you to choose from, and by christmas time the must have games like resistance will be pretty cheap.

Yes. kick A$$ system. Awesome. should definitely buy it. Alot of awesome games and exclusives coming out for ps3 in the next few monthes.

I love my PS3, it is my console of choice because it is such a sweet piece of hardware. The Xbox 360 simply does not compare with respect to hardware quality. I will only love it more when Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Heavenly Sword come out. Then when Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out...it's over...

I also love my Xbox 360 now that it has been repaired by Microsoft free of charge. I am looking forward to Bioshock and Mass Effect. I'm glad I have the best 2 systems on the market! The Wii looks cool, but on contrary to popular belief, it's really not THAT cheap. Buying the system a controller, a game, and a memory card costs almost $400! No thanks....

I'm very satisfied with my PS3, so satisfied that I never felt a need to purchase a Wii, so contented that I sold my X360 just

if you have an HDTV , then definitly get the PS3,the upscaling is one of the best (and gettign better)and blu ray movies look amazing. plus tons of games are about to coem out that will rock. if you dont have an HDTV then you can prolly wait till you get a PS3. I personly am not getting an HDTV till november , but i have had my PS3 since it came out and i dotn regret it at all, its amazing.

very very happy with this purchase, I have both a pos3 and 360 and also hhad the wii for a few months. The games are soon to come, if you have the money get it.

Disregard all the garbage you hear about the system. True owners of this system know its capabilities and the joy it brings them

I have absolutely no regrets with my PS3 granted, I just recently purchased mine May 22nd so I haven't had as much time with it as those who bought one as launch but to me its a great machine probably the best console I ever owned
