Buying used?

What is the rep for used ps3s? I finally found one in our local gamstop and was wondering if they have the same rep as 360s used do? you know how they die in a couple of weeks after purchase...

get a slim. get a warranty. you'll sleep better at night.

I bought a 40 GB Refurb PS3 from Gamestop 2 months ago and havent had a single issue. I think sometimes people forget that when a system gets returned to Gamestop or is sent in for repairs to Sony, it is COMPLETELY tested and restored to new or like new condition. Even if someone simply trades in a used PS3 for a 360 with nothing being wrong with it, it is still sent back to Sony. When I opened the box when I got is home, the system was fully encased in cardboard and that clear cling plastic that protects the finish. All of the cords, cables and controler were sealed in plastic packaging. I bought it for $240 and got a 30 day warrenty from Gamestop and the same one year warranty from Sony that everyone gets. With the $60+ I saved, I was able to get a game as well.

If i was u i wouldnt waste your money on a used system from gamestop. I have heard about a lot of people getting them and having nothing but problems. Like one person posted. Just get a slim and a warrenty u will be better off in the long run. Dont waste your time with gamestop.

If you have other options available to you, I would be careful with used hardware.

Buy new systems if you can. The warrenty you get makes them worth the extra price

bottom line dont buy used items you run high risk of it not working just save a little more and buy a new one it will be worth it

My refurbished 80GB is running like new, no problems whatsoever. I only paid $80 for it though, heh. Now, I have some money set aside for a 120GB Slim should the 80GB ever die on me, but until it does, I don't see the point of dropping $299.
