Hey,
How many of you buy your games used?
-Thanks

I like buying new, but, even if you save $10 off new retail by buying used, that really adds up.
-Thanks
I buy used games sometimes. About 3/4 of my collection is new, but my vintage games are usually bought used.
I bought GTAIV, CoD4, MGS4, Army of Two, and NBA Street: Homecourt used.
I bought Burnout Paradise, Guitar Hero: World Tour, SOCOM: Confrontations,Resistance 2, and Fallout 3 new.
I've sold: Guitar Hero: World Tour (game only, still own full band kit), SOCOM: Confrontations (still own headset), NBA Street: Homecourt (I originally got this game for free in the buy one used game and get one for the same price or lower for free deal at gamestop), and CoD4
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Used: 5
New: 5
------------------------------
Now: 6
Total Games:
MGS4 (used), GTAIV (used), Fallout 3 (new), Resistance 2 (new), Burnout Paradise (new), and Army of Two (used)
-----------------------------------------------------------
Selling (after I buy them usedand finish the game):
Army of 2, Battlefield: Bad Company, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and Assassin's Creed, Resistance 2, Bioshock
--------------------------
Buying (when sequels release new):
Army of 2: 40th day, Battlefield:Bad Company 2, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Assassin's Creed 2, Bioshock 2 and Resistance 3
--------------------------------------------
Summary: so I buy new games and used games, and I also sell, the game if I know I'm going to buy the sequel. But other than that I keep my 'special' games, and sell the games that were updated by their sequel.

lol well structured :D
Mainly I base my decision on replay value. I try to buy new to support the devs, but if there isn't replay value I wait to buy them from amazon or ebay when they are cheaper, either used or new. For example, if the game has a decent multiplayer, local or online, I am more inclined to buy new. Also, I like Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank type games since they have multiple difficulty settings to unlock and weapons etc. to find/unlock.
vintage as in old vidya games.
the only used game i have is re5 which i paid a cool 55 a few weeks after its release date
I generally try to support devs and buy new. Most of the time when I buy used, its because the title is out of print and can't be bought new in stores. Stuff like God Hand, Gun Grave, or Zone of the Enders. I always look for the quality boxes though. I found God Hand about 4 times with the crappy GS boxes they use before I finally found the real box. I sometimes feel like I'm rescuing some of these games from a bad fate and give them a good home.

Vintage
6.the class of a dated object with reference to era of production or use: a hat of last year's vintage.
I bought The Darkness, MGS4, and Mirror's Edge used. I actually feel more comfortable buying PS3 games this way, compared to on other systems, because of the scratch resistant coating.
about half my games are used games, cant afford new ones all the time. plus never had an issue with them. daveydagsame here... now I get some more new games bc they are comming with really nice "pre-order bonus" . Also for some reason getting a used game in CT soon (meaning before month and month after release) is hard... I used to get my games in NYC and after a week or less they ahve tons of used games of any game.. this do not happen/work quite smoothly in CT...

Thanks, yes, I also buy vintage games used and will continue to do so...do you guys buy from gamestop or ebay/amazon? gamestops having a 20% off used ps3 games and im wondering if i should get mgs4/burnout/gt prologue from gs or ebay/amazon.. thanksnckbrkrWow, really 20% plus an EDGE card, 30%!!!....wow....you can prob get Assassin's Creed for $15!!! or less!!!!! Are you sure...
how much does an edge card cost? would it be worth getting if im only getting mgs4... yeah they sent out emails to gs subscribers mgs4 is $39.99 used at gs btwnckbrkrOriginally, I got it for free, don't remember how, but it was $14.99 to renew it. I don't know what you have to do, but sometimes you can get it for free...but other than that I think it's $20, now...I'm not 100% positive. Also an EDGE card is always good down the road, I must of saved/gained $200 by now. with just 2 years of renewal. When I had a Wii, Wii games would sometimes be 30% + my 10% edge card, and when I sold it, you I more money + it was something that if you sell 5 wii games at the same time you get an extra 40% trade in value. This was way back last summer. But yea, with all the games I bought used and sold, it pays itself back, But since money you want to spare, and if it cost $20 to buy a edge card, and mgs4 cost $40, and with the card u save $30, and only get $7 off, you should hold on, on getting an edge card until you have more money.
I try to support the Devs... but ive bought a few used games because of the blu-ray i know its safe.-Hoax-Thats really true.. Playsation 3's reading of the codes on the disks is really good, so even if the game has a few scratchs, the ps3 can scan through them and pick up the codes.... well so i've been told. And yes i buy a lot of pre owned games..
Used games are kinda hurting the industry. But the fact is that people don't have alot of money and still want to play games. The thing that sucks about buying used from gamestop is that they jack the price up soo much and give you so little for trade in that everyone besides them gets screwed. I mean if they gave some of the profit back to the game company I would say "go ahead". But they just pocket all the profit themselves. I say if you want to buy used games don't do it through gamestop. Use ebay, or better yet craiglist. That way you get a fair price, the person selling it to you gets more money and gs doesn't rape either of you for profit.
As for me, if it's a game I really like I will buy it new. I bought mgs4, street fighter iv, LBP, and valkyria chronicles new. The rest of my games I bought used or traded for.
