Am I the only one who actually tries to buy NEW games at Gamestop instead of used just to help Sony? I see no harm in spending an extra 5 dollars for Heavenly Sword when I know that sell is helping Sony, and not Gamestop. I mean, if it's like 20-30 bucks cheaper (they rarely are unless they're really old 3 dollar used games) then I'll buy it. But I'm not going to skimp and save 5 bucks to give Sony a sell for the "struggling" PS3. Anybody else do the same?

Yep. I believe in supporting companies when they make something I like. And If you're already spending $50 - $60, another $5 or $10 dosen't matter. Also, I hold onto my games and I'm picky about condition, so I like being the only owner.

I think once the games hit the shelves they are not sony's anymore, they are the stores,so by buying NEW games you arnt helping sony out, you are helping the store, and they are going to buy back used games regardless, so they wouldnt receive new games as long as they have some sort of copies.

Usually I would always go with new games, but Blu Rays don't really scratch and are really hard to damage, so a used game is as good as new

I have an Edge Card (comes with the GI subscriptions) so I save 10% more on used games, notjust $5 bucks. Also, I don't have a lot of money, so whatever deal can save me the most money is what I will probably do (granted I do occasionally purchase a new game now and again due to impatience). I just can't afford to spend extra for a company that makes more than I do.

I only buy used games if there like 20 bucks compered to 30 but if the used game is like 54 dollars i buy the new one. with blu-ray though you never have to worry about reanting and used games which is a great seller if sony would market it. not once i have seen sony market this to the press. this is huge when you have children or just not a person that takes care of your things.

If Sony sells 100 copies of a game to the store you are right, it is not Sony's game anymore they made their money. But for every used copy of a game that is sold that is another new copy that they aren't selling which means they aren't ordering as many from Sony which results in less money for them.

So by buying used games, and I'm talking a game that is up to 6 months old, not something that was released years ago it's kinda technically hurting Sony.

If the game is really good and I know ill get like 10 hrs or more out of it, I usually buy it new if I can afford it. Just picked up my brand new copy of Ratchet and Clank today! Too bad I have to work now but ill be playing it all night when I get home.

I support the game companies i like, Sony and all its studios (Incognito, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Evolution Studios, Japan Studios), Namco, Atlus,, Sega and Konami. I'll only buy games used if they're from a company i don't really like, like Capcom, THQ, EA, and Ubisoft.

Big stores like Best Buy order quantities based on pre-orders and what they expect to be able to move. If PS3 games aren't moving off the shelves, it affects future orders.

Not really worth buying used games for the PS3 for me. If it's just $5, I'd rather buy a new copy. Until it's like on the 360 where an old game saves you over $10 when buying it used, I won't bother with it.

I just buy used games unless of course the only other option is new, I still buy it. The used games just save money and it adds up later.

If it's just a 5-10 dollar difference then of course I'll buy new but if its a significant amount then I'll go used. Sorry, but I'm a bit of a tight gaming budget to begin with so being able to save $20 on something gets me 1/3 of the way towards being able to afford another game. So in the end it actually helps Sony I guess. lol
