sniping may be useful but since you'll kill less might take some time to increase the ratio. Try using silencers, uav jammer perk and play more crowded games (ground war) where you have more targets to kill.
My k/d ratio is 1.62 by the way and I often use AK47 with silencer-bandolier-stopping power-steady aim
Not all maps are good for sniping

I hear people getting 100+ kills when playing domination on shipment map. maybe that could help also
I'm done with COD4 since I reached prestige 10 and completing all the challenges seems useless. good luck to you though
I'd suggest a G36C with Red dot sight, then use overkill and carry the semi-auto shotgun with red dot sight, 3 frag grenades, and dead silence. You wouldn't believe how great the advantage is for making no sounds as you move.
Flank people when possible. Know the maps, spawn points, and where people generally hide/go to. That way, you can get there before they do and surprise them.

This is why I wish they wouldn't even show your K/D ratio. Domination is not about kills.... but when you play game modes like that nobody wants to ever try go actually go after the flags because they're too worried about their stupid ratios. People worry way too much about their ratio on those games... I quit playing because I got sick of nobody wanting to do anything but rack up kills even in game modes that aren't about kills.... and listening to people rage because they got a negative ratio in a match.
[QUOTE="BrettB7400"]Use the rpd. Its honestly the best gun out there to mow down people. I have a 2.08 k/d ratio and the rpd is the only gun I use. iBlooba
^ Don't do this. Most people look down on LMG users. It's basically overpowered in Call of Duty 4.
It seems like whatever gun kills someone is a "noob gun". I say use whatever works best for you.... try to challenge yourself by switching it up once in a while. But don't worry about what guns "people look down on". You can spend a whole match using nothing but the knife and people will call you a noob and say you're using an unfair or overpowered weapon. Unless you walk up to someone and just stand there waiting for them to line up a good head shot they'll complain regardless.
