I am getting a PS3 very soon and I will be getting Uncharted: Drakes Fortune for free with the PS3 package.

Should I get Call of Duty 4 or Resistance: Fall of Man?

I like Resistance because it looks like a Gears of War/Halo type game, and I loved both of those games. Resistance also looks even more appealing because Resistance 2 is coming out very soon.

But then again, everybody says Call of Duty 4 is one of the best shooting games out right now. But I just dont know.

I have played none of these 2 games before, and they both look great. Which one should I get?

RFOM is really more of a twitch shooter, COD4 is straight up amazing tactical mind blowingness. get COD, it will consume you.

Well i think if you want a more single player campaign Resistance is the way(CoD takes maybe 3-4 hours if your average compared to i think like 8-10 hours for resistance) but if you want pure online mayhem CoD4 is better but Resistance online isnt anything to sneeze at either.

resistance: fall of man. That game is just to great to pass up man. Plus it will get u ready for Resistance 2. I got CoD4 a week its a good online game. At first it goes slow cause ur rank. But when u get some better weps it gets more interesting. Tho i would recondmend picking up CoD4 later when its price lowers down cause the single player is about 5 hours...where resistance single player is around 13+ hours.

If single player is what you crave, then get Resistance

If it's multiplayer that you want, then go with CoD4

RFOM also has good multiplayer, but just every other game (FPS) pales in comparison to COD4.

yeah, I was going to edit my comment saying that Resistance has one of the best multiplayers on the PS3, but everything's pale in comparison to CoD4 (maybe except Warhawk :D)

i find warhawk quite stale and boring after COD4 actually. even UT3 sucks after COD4. its essentially ruined FPS games for me.

Times like these when you wonder if playing CoD 4 is a good thing in the first place

i know, i just can't play any shooters anymore, even just Halo for fun with my cousins sucks compared to COD, its both a curse and a blessing. luckily i still like Half Life 2.

I would go with Resistance. CoD4 story-mode was much to short though intense. I think for Resistance I complete the story-mode in 18-20 hours and CoD4 I beat in 9 hours. I'm not much into online gaming at this time so Resistance had more staying power for me. Plus I like killing alien baddies! Along with CoD4, Resistance is a very nice looking game that runs at a very sold framerate with tons of enemies on screen.

Its simple, COD4 has the best online out there right now, but Resistance has a great single player campain.

Cod4's online more than makes up for the short single player. Although if you try multiplayer first you won't even touch the single player game. I haven't even finished the single player campaign since the multiplayer was soo addicting. And like everyone says it WILL RUIN most fps/shooting games for you. Heh I still have nightmares about pressing L3 to run and having it not work.

I heard someone say that the only thing COD4 multiplayer has is the leveling system. If it didn't have that, than many gamers wouldn't be praising it as much as they are.

However, from what I played of the two games I would say, you can't go wrong either way.

If you can't decide, save up, finish your first game, and then buy both of them then you'll have about 20+ hours of fun action packed single player campaigne and inifinity+ hours of multiplayer bad-assery

Yea you have to experience BOTH but DO NOT buy both at the same time. Buy Resistance first and when you get done/bored with it THEN get CoD4. Playing CoD Online will make Resistance seem boring and you don't want that yet. So try to experience Resistance's great gameplay FIRST and then experience CoD4's. Buying both at the same time will most likely get you to rush through Resistance and pop in CoD4..

COD4 is going to last longer. Resistance will die soon and it's way past it's prime. I also think COD4 is slightly better.

COD4 has no co-op, which is a big factor in my taste in games. It took my best buddy and I nearly half a bag of smoke and 20 hrs to finish Resistance on Hard. Also Insomniac has a knack for making some really kick-a$s weapons in their games. I think it all comes down to what you want. Straight up online death and a pretty 6 hr campaign. Or a little more Sci-fi, with a brilliant 12 hr campaign and 40-player online death. (Yes, I used the word pretty, because COD4 is one of the prettiest shooters out there)

Call of Duty 4 is a great game, but the Single Player campaign is too short. Overall, Resistance would be better for Single Player, but Call of Duty 4 is a better multiplayer experience.

you should get both but if you had to choose one get CoD4 since it is more up to date.
