Call of duty 4 problems connecting!!!

Hi im lvl 55 no prestige (silentsnowman is my psn id). I have a working connection i have done a test and have a working connection. I also have gone in the playstation store. When i go to play online i go into the multiplayer screen and it says loading game settings ( the area where you choose the game type) normally it takes like a second but i let it sit for exactly 31 minutes and it did not work i did that an hour ago after updating. This started 2 days ago and i examined the disk under the light, cleaned it a total of 3 times and it still wont work. I can play single player but multiplayer wont work. Even split screen wont work right it will stop in the middle of loading. I talked to someone i know and he siad it happened to him once. Is it just us or do alot of people have this problem? Please can someone help me i can't play and would like to, any help is greatly appreciated.-Thanks

hey m8 i hav just suffered with this problem wat u hav to do is go onto ur computer thn into ur router settings thn u hav to open some ports the best thing u can do is to ring up activision there number should b in ur booklet with cod4 so just let thm no and they will srt it 4 u

Yeah... happened to me too, just in split screen though... tried it the next day, worked fine haha

its not a rare ccase loads of ppl suffer with this problem the problem is wen u log on to cod4 onlnie u send a message to activision asking to play online they instantly reply with a yes but 4 sme reason sometimes the invite can not b delivered to u once this happens u cant recieve the message again until u change ur ports i changed mine and im wrking fine again now

I may have sorted it...

I've been having the same problem occasionally, all I've been doing recently is rebooting the modem, reconnecting and BAM, it works....
I've got one of Telstra's **** Speedstream 6520's and this works EVERY time, good luck bro hope this fixes the problem.

hey if you call there hlp line they will srt it it happened to me aswell its not the disk its your ports so dnt go buying a new version of cod4 it wont wrk

Happened to me once. I just logged off the PSN, unplugged my modem to reset (10sec min), and restarted everything, PS3 included. Worked like a charm. Try that.
