call of duty 4...online...i die alot

i love call of duty 4 and the other day i tried online and i am not very good at it....its just confusing because i look at my mini map and i dont see anyone coming but all the sudden i die..it so annoying...i cant get a single kill but i die alot...wat should i do???i am very good at the single player i am even playing in the difficult mode (first time play the game ever) i am very good at it...its just the online..any help would be nice...thanxiqballolol...sad....because for some reason...i SUCK at the single player...but am really good online...one thing you really need to do is find a weapon that really works for u. For me the m16a4 is actually like...god. Once you get 25 kills with it you will unlock the red dot scope and things will be MUCH easier (for all guns almost you unlock this). You also need to get comfortable with a style of play. me im a really good tactical run and gunner (so i dont go gunz blazing cus i watch where im going thinkin of it all time). Watch where you are at all times and make sure u've cleared everypart ur going through and watch themap for any shots going off. If you play with a different style, such as a sniper there is actually a REALLY good forum thread that you can probably search for on it....hope this helped in some way...also you will have to get used to all the Noobtubers/grenade spammers and such that are in all online shooters.

Well the mini map doesn't always show the people. If you're playing the regular modes it's like this.
Enemies will not appear until they shoot, or till someone on your team kills 3 people and calls a uav. But even with the uav up some people use a perk called uav jammer that blocks them from uav. This doesn't block them from being seen when they shoot a weapon unless they have a silencer on it.
A few good tips are to start with free for all, tdm or domination. Also a good strategy is to pay attention to your teammates. If they are all going one way go the other way. If the enemy sees a bunch of fools running down a road he wont be looking behind himself when you sneak up on him.
Okay you said you look at your map and dont see anybody then get killed! This can be a combination of a few things! 1) Nobody on your team has a UAV 2) You were killed by a sniper 3) You were killed by a camper 4) Your just moving to fast and dont have enough time to look everywhere 5) You dont know the maps well enough and dont know all the hiding spots!!! You also have to take into effect that you are just now playing the online... this game has been out for a long long time and your pretty darn late, so its gonna take some getting use to! So use these tips I gave you, and once you master them and build up about 5-10 hours online experience you should see some major improvement! If not, then maybe CoD4 just isnt your game... may I suggest the amazing MGS4!TrevCubsOr21
u r right i am acting as if i am in single player mode..and i move fast...i would give it a couple more trys and if there is no hope then i will pass on it..

let alone if there is a pack..
these "packs" are so easy to pick off its
not even funny..if all kills
are located in one place the game
ends quickly..spread out..play your own game

were..and go looking around that area when you spawn..

Stay on your toes and keep those reflexes ready!! :D ok, never EVER follow your team mates, they are loud crude and stupid, and will get you killed, equip a silenced m4 carbine, a silence pistol, bandoller, u.a.v jammer, and dead silence, then do NOT go near the main fighting, go around the outskirts of the map, and pick of the snipers, sneak up on campers, and take out runners, BUT NEVER FOLLOW THEM learn to kill when you need to, not kill at any given time, that will give you away, dont stay in one place, keep moving, tho only when its clear hope this helped
Lol well my K/D ratio is 0.8 so i'm not great either. :roll:
However my K/D ratio on CoD: WaW is 0.96 so it is slightly better, 8)
I die a lot online too, but I do a lot of killing on the way there .. Remember like some have said find the gun that suits you .. I enjoy the M4 and the Ak47u .. get the red dot site .. and the two biggest things to remember .. UAV Jammer and Extreme Conditioning are your best friends on the war field .. ;)420Token420D= i miss token...and wow this thread is pretty old...
single and online are completely opposite.. single the scripts and animations are written for the Ai.. so naturally you become use to them even without you knowing.. you die, guess what you now know what's coming and where from..
as for online, you rarely get any of those benefits (unless campers)..
now i am good at both single and online only because i know what people are going to do and go and even where they are going to spawn.. i play at district, there is always someone up on the archway.. i play at ambush always people on the propane tank building or the buildings people call the glitch buildings.. i mean i have great accuracy so i rarely die when it's a head to head firefight.. but it comes from knowing the maps, knowing the tendencies of the opponents.. that's why random grenades aren't as random as they are made out to be..
like search and destroy i know where they are going to spawn if they are defending and i know what i do when i defend so i am counting on the person to do something similar so i throw a grenade and bam i get a kill (i don't throw grenades, that's just an example).. so just play more online and pay attention..
when you are fighting up close, don't pull up your sights (L1 or L2 depending which button layout you use) and move left to right while shooting at someone.
listen for footsteps when there are no one around you
always check every corner (but do it fast)
peek at the mini map every once in awhile...don't stare
duck in a corneror go prone (lie on the floor) when you reload, or if a stun grenade hits you.
if you get flash banged in a room and you know it came from the only doorway....go prone and tap the trigger until you get your vision back...don't spray and hold down. its funny when you kill ppl that way
hold your grenade at least 2 seconds...when throwing far distances go from low to high to make the grenade travel farther
get familiar with the maps and where everyone might be.
follow people (you might get cleanup kills. i know it sucks, but you follow someone with a high level then you might learn something) but not directly behind them, always be slightly left or right, or you might get picked off by someone who shot the teamate in front
and last but not least PRACTICE YOUR AIM. it took me til my first prestige to get really good...

Im not that good either but what iv learned is always use the scope/ iron sights.
Spam grenades like no other (should take you a few days to get used to the spots to throw the spam grenades)
After you kill a guy never run over his body (martyrdom noobs)
Don't ever think the sniper cant see you
And don't use martyrdom or last stand because those suck and people will yell at you.
