The other day when my brother went to play some cod it saidthere was an update, it was to take up about 173 mb of space. At least an hour later the update was finished but when it was to install it said there was an install error. If it helps i use a wireless router connection and my media server connection is disabled.

1 hour? that's long. Mine took like 5 minutes. Check your connection quality. If your connection quality is under 70% wirelessly then go wired. This may be the result of an interrupted download. Delete the file and download it again. Wired if it is possible.

Same happened to me, but instead it was with update 1.04 idk, the second one, it said that it'll take 1 hour and a half (daaang) and BAM! MOTHER****** ERROR! same thing has happened to me downloading other stuff like demos...
