I downloaded the new downloadable game Calling All Cars yesterday.  i have to say, for $10, this is a great game.  Screw GS and their 6.7 score.  Yes, there's only four levels.  But what do you expect for $10.  The game looks friggin' great!

I played multiplayer both offline and on.  The split screen offline looks great on an HDTV.  Online seemed to work very well too.  Is a very simplistic online lobby and such but it does the trick.  Did have a couple of issues.  Mics don;t seem to work right.  Also, i was in one game and one of the ther players was either cheating or lagging really bad.  He'd be in one spot, disappear, and reappear within a flash on the other side of the map.  I was shocked to see some Socom-lag type of crap on a PS3 downloadable.  I'm sure it was a fluke.

What did you guys think??

I love it it is alot better than anything on XBOX Live Arcade. I also saw some really bad lagging. I like online alot. But does it have a ranking list or anything?

I kind of agree with GS somewhat. I wonder if they left the lack of content just so they can release downloads for $$ later on. For $10, it doesn't seem like a complete game. It's fun, but leaves you thinking that they left a lot out.

that's fanboy talk. I love my PS3, but even I appreciate what XBLA brings.

Well, I played online with a weak wireless signal yesterday for three hours. And there was NO lag for me.

Wish I could say the same for MK II:P

I am guessing you expected a 12 hour single player campaign with 40 maps for only $10?  IT'S $10.  I can barely eat lunch for that.

Hey for $10 I can get HL2:E1. I agree with what feryl06 it doesn't feel compete.

then go buy that.

has Half Life 2 always been $10?  I think not.  so it doesn't even need to be discussed

Stuff like new maps and weapons I'm sure will be added later, but some of you guy's really need to stop comparing a full fledged $60 title, to a $10 game. It's not surprising that a download-able game may not feel complete when your used to playing bigger $60 titles. To compare the two just makes no sense at all. I'm convinced that one day we're going to see full fledged download-able games that have just as much features, and takes just as long to beat as a $60 title. We just haven't seen one yet. I think what your going to see out of alot of original PSN titles is games that start at at $10, but little by little features will be added to it like extra maps, weapons, vehicles, etc for a small fee that it will eventually ad up to the value, and quality that you'd see out of a good $60 game.

Yeah, what is in the game seems rightish for a downloadable game.

And keep in mind, that HL2:E1 is part of an episodic content game, which is, in itself, based on a full gaming experience.

Comparing the two seems somewhat unfair, if you ask me.

I think everyone needs to look at what the game has accomplished.  its the same with Flow.  Flow's main reason for existing was to prove that a simple ambient-type game could be fun.  With Calling All Cars, i think they made a great arcade-style, original, exclusive, dowloadable, cheap, fun game.  One of my buddies was over right after I downloaded it.  He owns no game system and doesn't play games very often at all.  He picked it up and loved it.

Now, I'm not saying that a game is a winner if all of the non-gaming losers like it.  I'm saying that its wise for Sony to try and market for the masses.  Nintendo's killing on that right now.  If they can make their same old killer , adult aimed, library but also make games like this to appeal to the masses, Sony will rock the house.

Agreed. This game is absolutely fun and addicting as hell. Ultimate drinking/party arcade game. Ten bucks is nothing, if you complain about 10 bucks for a title like this, go get a job, or stick to the used games rack at EB, jeez.

I think people who complain about Calling All Cars, must have had the criminal stolen from them on the ramp to the three point prison turn in on the City Level... by me.  =)  Best 10 bucks I've ever spent.
