Guys do think that Sony can support both PSP and NGP because I am sure that the PSP has about 5 years left of its 10 years lifespan. Plus I have been searching for
PSP release dates and as it turns out there are game titles set for release even in 2013 for PSP, according to the list of games of PSP games that I saw on the IGN website.

The PSP will probably get a fair amount of support in Japan after the NGP launch considering that in Japan the PSP is the best selling video-game platform at the moment, but I can't really see Sony supporting the original PSP in the US after the NGP launch too much. They will probably still have fair support for it with downloads on the PSN but don't expect many new UMD releases.

Sony kept the PS1 running alongside the PS2 and the PS2 is still happily selling a few million consoles a year.

So, hopefully, PSP will be around for a while yet although the games will dry up pretty quickly, except for easy conversions like the Lego series.

If they do have more PSN releases, then that'll just be a plus for you, since you have both systems, you can play the games on both platforms. Like the PS2 here, it's still absolutely worth it for the Japanese to keep making games for a system so widely owned.

PS1 and PS2 were both more sucessful than the PSP. I don't expect it be completely cut off when the NGP comes out, but it will not stay around as long as PS1 and PS2 did. new umd games will be done almost immediately as you said, but the downloadable stuff should keep it going for a little while longer.

If enough are sold, I can still see developers porting ngp games to psp, but I doubt it'll have any big name exclusives after the ngp is released.
