When people are looking for advice on these boards about what game to buy next or first the usual suspects are all reccomended; RFOM, Motorstorm, NGS, Oblivion, R6 Vegas etc but I never see anybody reccomending COD3. Why is that? It got great reviews just about everywhere. Did the reviews leave out something that's only discovered when you play it? I'm seriously considoring buying this game but I don't want to part with my hard earned cash if there's something seriously crappy with it. Renting isn't really an option for me.

I absolutely love it, but I have to include that I am a COD fanboy. The single player campaign is always unbelievably amazing in all of the games. The Mutiplayer is good, not as good as RFOM tho. I would definintly recommend that you get CoD4 when it comes out, it is supposed to be an unbelieavably great multiplayer game with some very innovative twists!

COD3 was not created by Infinity Ward...the original creators of COD and COD2...Its was far worse that all previous COD.

Thats why I wont recommend it. COD4 on the other hand is looking to be a fantastic game (its being developed by Infinity Ward)

I would recommend it.. i'm about 1/2 way through it and it's a great game in my opinion. I have the PS2 version of the game so i don't know if theres any difference with the PS3 version.

yeah its not toobad. its definetly the worst in the series; mainly cause there nothing new. I've been told it is good on Xbox360 though. i played COD2 on PC and it was alot better than COD3 on PS3.

i recommend skipping this one! if you get it anyway dont play hardest difficulty, all the glitches in the game make it alot more harder; near impossible. But you that might be me having a winge causethats my excuse for not finishing the game.

Its has boring single player. Multiplayer is fun, but no where near as good as Resistance. I was really disappointed when I played it. I might trade it in for Ninja Gaiden.

I got it on the PS3 and found it uses some inovative ways of using the six axis controller. As for being a hard game to bet in single player I will just say that you have to pay very close attention to what's going on around you during a battle when you are not fighting tangos. You will have some hand to hand fighting that uses the six axis to fight with along with few other things that uses the contoller to complete a task. Also it seems that there are a much larger number of tangos in all the battles along with other pieces of equipment that some you can use and some you have to destroy.

Note the PS3 version has enviroments that are destructive or react to an outside force that makes it more realistic.
