Can I, as soon as i get it out of the box, can i play the games on HD or do i have to buy extra cables?

Also do i have to buy other cables to watch movies on HD?

Are the cables included so i can imediately play and watch in HD (i have an HDTV by the way if that helps)?

First one, I think you need cables.

Second one, no. You don't need other cables to watch movies.

unfortunately sony dont supply the necessary cables to play in HD. they only supply cables to play games at 480P. u can still play games and DVDs (dony know about blu-ray movies) fine with the cables in the box....itll just be at SD resolution.

what u need is a HDMI cable. also make sure ure TV has a HDMI port (it probably does)

No they don't they supply the cables to play at 480i, 480p would be component cables, anything other than SD resolution you have to pay for out of your own pocket.

Nah you need to buy an HDMI cable to watch them in HD. Don't buy it at the stores- too expensive. I suggest eBay or amazon. you can get them for as low as $5.00.

You will want HDMI to get the most out of the PS3. You can use the DVD upgrader (upgrades normal DVD's to 1080, it is very nice), and some color enhancements (which also greatly enhances the picture of DVDs and video game graphics) ONLY with HDMI and not component.
