actually he is wrong, just because its a monitor doesn't mean that it can't be hooked up to the ps3, I play on my monitor all the time with an hdmi to dvi cable i bought off of monoprice.com however i do believe that the monitor needs to be HDCP compatible and i can't tell if the monitor you bought is HDCP compatible, I would just buy the coord they are cheap and give it a try you have nothing to lose but a couple bucks

its not worth playing the ps3 in a 19".. and it won't work on that monitor..
try to get ATLEAST 22" 32 if you can.. imo .. seriously you'll regret paying for a 19" monitor :?

Um yes you can play your PS3 on a computer monitor, but you need an adaptor and I'm pretty sure your monitor has to support HDCP, which I don't think this one does.

Get the westinghouse 37" 1080p, the w3 version. It has hdmi. I am using it and it is amazing. Oh, it is discontinued. Lucky if you can still find it.

I play my PS3 on my 19" monitor and Idefinitely don't regret it, I even have a 32" HDTV to play on if I want, it still much better than a SDTV if you can't afford a HDTV.

Well the main thing is the monitor needs to be HDCP compatible, then you need a HDMI - DVI cable or adaptor and it should run at 720p; mine does and it is a 19".

I use a 22 inch dell monitor setup that gives me 1080p. I think the ratio is 2000:1 and it comes with hdmi input, vga and dvi. I bought the soundbar with it and I use a speaker jack coupler and rca 2 to 1 adapter and it works great for sound. The dell ultrasonic is $169 too and will definately work. My setup was about $330-350.

Blu ray dosen't work without hdcp. It ensures it's licensed use of someth'in like that. 360 dosen't need hdcp (I think) but PS3 does due to the blu ray. Look at dell monitors. They are priced well and are hdcp compliant. They even mention the PS3 as compactible.

Wow, I'm getting hate mail more than half a year later because I didn't know about this stuff then. I didn't even have an HDTV at that time so I had no friggin' idea what the hell went with what. Relax people, I didn't know and I wouldn't have been the first to not know. Besides, most people on this post corrected me so who cares, problem solved. Getting hate mail after such a long time is really stupid and childish, getting it at all is even worse.

More than half of the people who posted on your topic don't know what they are talking:

Check your manual if your dvi input is hdcp compatible. If not, you cant use a hdmi to dvi cable to connect it with your ps3, cause it wont work. People who say that all widescreen monitor are hdcp compatible are talking ****. You can also connect the ps3 to your vga (d-sub) input. You only have to buy a 30$ cable(price is includes shipping). Go to ebay and search for "ps3 vga". There you'll find a cable that you can use for a wii and ps3. I use it myself and it works great. You'll get a 720p image quality. Not many people know that this cable exist. The only problem is that you can't watch normal dvd's with it. Check on youtube and search for "ps3 vga".The ps3 will thing its using a component cable.

Hiddren

Through the DVI port with an HDMI to DVI cable which will display in 1080p if the monitor supports it and is HDCP compliant.

i second this dude!

listen to him he know wat he is talking about...

also seriously... some of the idiots out there who are like u must play on at least 22 inches... not worth playing on 19 inches... seriously with alittle bit of search (i cant be bothered to link) u can find a guide on the best viewing distance for different sized monitors... ofc ur not gonna be sitting 3 meters away while playing on a 19 inch monitor... ur gonna be sitting half a meter away... in which it will be fine...

TC if u want to focus on gaming and not blu ray movies... however if u want pure HDMI with 1080p and u have the money, here is the monitor i have 24 inches by HP

i think this is the one

http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/display/display/1/storefronts/GM712AA%2523ABA

but yah all u have to do is make sure it has DVI or HDMI then its workable

Here's the weird thing about monitors. They are a great deal in the 19" range because they are cheaper than HDTV's of the same size, yet when you hit the 24"-26" range like the one you posted, you can get a pretty good 32" HDTV for the same price as the 24" monitor. The HDTV won't be 1080p, but I've read that you can only really start to see the difference between 720p and 1080p at 47" or larger. Plus the 32" HDTV has a VGA input so it can be used as a monitor also.

Basically, if you have $150-$200, get a monitor. If you have $500-$600, get an HDTV.

I use a dell monitor. The latest models are guaranteed to work. They are HDCP compliant and come with hdmi ports. However, I personally use a dvi to hdmi cable.
