Most PS2 games with Online Capabilities have some form of setting up the online network config on the disk. Just look around, all those games work online.
Yes you can play PS2 games online on the PS3. I've done it you just need to pop in your game and then go to Online it will say you need to setup and then send you to the Online setup screen and follow the instructions and there you go. It needs a memory card, but the PS3 has a internal PS2 Memory card so it allows you to play Online.

no your wireless connection is jsut fine.....just look for game such as champions of norrath or socom: combined assualt and create a networkconfiguration file then save it on your virtual memory card
yes for games like madden or star wars battlefront 2 where the networks install comes on the disc yes but no if it doesnt and u dont have the orignal install disc
