Can I still run Linux after the update?

I feel like installing it, and putting and getting everything i want, before the 'install other os' feature is removed. but will i be able to run it before the update?

I don't think you're grasping the situation. After the update, you can't use linux anymore.

To quote President Obama "Yes you can". Or was it "Yes we can"? Anyway who cares. You'll be able to run it right up until the update is released.

At that point in time you'll have a choice. You can either continue running with access to various features removed (e.g. PSN) or you can install the update.

TBH I'm not sure what the update will do to systems that already have it installed as, according to the update list, it just removes the feature. Maybe already setup consols will still run. Who knows? Sony probably

Yes he can. Why would he not be able to run Linux before the update is released?!

EDIT : Cancel that if you were responding to the topic title. In the title the OP asks if you can run it after the update, in the body he asks if you can run it before the update. Talk about creating a confusing forum.

As they said in the Sony blog, if one wants to keep using Linux don't run the update- it isn't a mandatory. However, one may wind up losing access to PSN, not being able to play games released that require the update, etc.
