Hey, I started my ps3 yesterday morning after five minutes my ps3 turned off. The green light suddenly turned yellow. After this I left my ps3 off for a few hours, then when i restarted it the standby light(red light) turned green once i pressed it for about 5 seconds then it turned yellow again and it was flashing yellow. After a few flashes it turned back red. Does anyone know why exactly I got this error. It could not have been from over heating as my ps3 was barely on for 5 or 10 minutes. Lucky I bought an extended warranty which expires in about a month so I took my ps3 in to bestbuy. By the way its the original fat 60 gig ps3. Thanks for the help.

Another question is that is this error fixable or will they end up giving me a new machine?

When my PS3 got the yellow light, Sony sent back the stuck game in a CD sleeve along with a new ps3.

It was another one.... but not to worry cuz you can redownload (free) everything you bought from the PS Store just go to your downloads list in there.

i actually work at best buy u got the orginal 60gb man that sucks it broke mines did to but yea u get a brand new one just make sure u bring all the cables and controller with the system and you reciept but whats kool about it is you get a new one and whatever you paid for it you either get store credit or you can get a fews game controller whatever you want example= you might have paid 600 dollars for you r ps3 since the ps3 is now 299 you get 300 dollars store credit or 300 dollars worth of stuff to buy to add up what you paid oh and since you swapping it out for a newer model your going to have to buy the warranty again Rip my 60gb ps3:( i now own a 80gb turned 500gb metal gear sold edition :) hoped this help oh and yea yellow light means your ps3 died
