TBH knowing Sony when they remove features, it wont be making a return anytime soon, if ever.

Says you, but I love having Linux running on my system. Way easier to browse the web than the PS3 browser.

I solve that simply, just grab my laptop. But yes linux is an awesome feature, I love playing "certain games" on it that we cant talk about on here.

If people were paying close attention to why they removed it you would understand more. They removed it due to the morons posting on You Tube and other sites about how you can use Linux on your PS3 to rip your PS3 games to Hard Drives on your PC and make copies. Then loading Torrents and other Apps. to play them. Basically they killed the possiblityof pirating using Linux on the PS3. If people don't want to believe this then oh well, but it's the facts. Check on it and you'll see.

I never was a fan of installing a OS on a PS3 because it could cause other problems. This could be a reason some systems get bricked while updateing firmware anyway. I have a laptop and a desktop for surfing the web.

Installing Linux would be a great feature if you could use a full copy of linux. The ps3 versions are a little dumbed down. Plus the xmb has most of the features you would need another os for. Now if sony would allow an open source OS to have access to gaming, bluray and all other features of the xmb, that would be awesome, the single greatest feature of any console.
