=/ Sony basically told me going over myself to a friends house and then downloading and playing a game while over there is " game sharing " AND against the EULA. if thats the truth then i dont want to be breaking the EULA.

[QUOTE="PoisoN_Facecam0"]you can share with up to 3 consoles now... thats all fine, just don't go over (3 including your system)emitsu97It's 5 and sharing isn't allowed. I just had this conversation with Sony two weeks ago. I talked with a Sony rep the other day too. He said you can download as many times as you want, but only to 5 systems. So if you upgrade your harddrive you don't lose an activation.
Just give them a call and ask them to reset it. However, gamesharing is not only against Sony's ToU, it's a cheap and wrong way to get games. If you ask me, Sony shouldn't deactivate the accounts if you ask me.StealthMonkey4Wat if you ps3/psp gets stolen ten?
some broad recently loss my psp and that was my last one i can activate. so ur saying sony can reset my account virtually?Sony won't deactivate a system unless you're maxed for activations. Alternatively, you could just go back to your friends house and deactivate his PS3 for use with your account.

[QUOTE="MPHhunter"]"sharing isn't allowed" Oh, America.StealthMonkey4I'm sure Devs love working their butts off on a game or DLC to see that some cheap people have to leech off friends or even strangers to get a game. And last time I checked American companies don't usually keep their headquarters in Japan...
Who gave you the power to tell me what I can and can't do with a game I buy and own? Why don't you just got to stores with demo units and ***** to them about that? What is horrible, though, is friends who don't take care of the things you let them borrow. I never let them borrow anything from me again if my stuff comes back in less-than-satisfactory condition. And if they break it, they're paying for a completely new one. I make very sure of that.

I never told you what you could and couldn't. I was just sharing my opinion on gamesharing; it's cheap, disrespectful to the Devs, and against Sony's ToU. And I'm aware they have a NA branch, I'm talking Sony as a whole not SCEA.if you deactivate your account on a ps3, the games you've downloaded there will not work for other users of the same ps3...
edit: the reason i know this is that the first ps3 i bought was an imported one (not by sony) and it had a malfunction, i didn't like the situation and exchanged it for one under the sony warranty, it had optical disc problems, so i sent it for repairs and got a loaner system from local sony (i live in turkey btw), then i received a refurbished ps3 for the one i sent for repairs... the refurbished one i got gave the ylod after 11 months of its arrival and it was still under warranty (in turkey the minimum warranty time set by the government is two years)... so i sent it for repairs, but could not bear to wait for 30 days, which was the case in my first attempt at repairs and i bought a slim last september... the reason i got aware of the account activation is that when i tried to set up my account on the recently sent refurbished ps3, and a message appeared that i already used up all of my activations... right now i am on my last activation (5th one) on my slim ps3, i hope it never breaks down or practically i am screwed... :(
nope no one answered the question. only one person said.So did anyone answer the question whether Sony can deactivate systems for you? I also would like to know this, far as I know I should only have 3 activated and somehow I'm maxxed at 5 already. Spooky is'nt it lol, but I would love if they could do this.

which is not really a yes or no. =/Sony won't deactivate a system unless you're maxed for activations. Alternatively, you could just go back to your friends house and deactivate his PS3 for use with your account.

which is not really a yes or no. =/ I'm not sure what's not to understand. Sony will not deactivate a system unless you're maxed at 5 activations. Once you're at 5, they'll deactivate 1 if you need space to activate another, thereby recapping you. Also, they'll only deactivate a system that's been sent in for "service", UPON REQUEST. They don't automatically deactivate systems sent in for "service". "Service" is in quotes because any system sent in for "service" is actually replaced with a refurb, thereby guaranteeing the system you receive back will not be activated for your account, using up another activation when you begin to redownload your PSN purchases.Sony won't deactivate a system unless you're maxed for activations. Alternatively, you could just go back to your friends house and deactivate his PS3 for use with your account.

And I'm aware they have a NA branch, I'm talking Sony as a whole not SCEA. I seriously don't see why game developers/publishers think they're so special. Nobody complains about letting other people listen to the music on your iPod, letting someone else read your book, or letting someone else watch a movie of yours. Hell, even letting someone see your TV! All of those people work their asses of just as much as the game developers, and game devs/publishers who complain about used games sales and game sharing are just greedy and in reality have no right to feel any more important than any other company. If anyone's being disrespectful to anyone, it's the game devs/publishers to us gamers.Sure, Sony's main HQ is in Japan. But this is on the subject of Sony Computer Entertainment, which has HQs in the USA, Canada, the UK, Japan, Australia, and South Korea.

To use your examples, it's allowing 4 of your friends to copy all the music on your Ipod, photocopy all of your books, or burn copies of your movies.Sure, Sony's main HQ is in Japan.
