play blu-ray movies from U.K.? I ask this because I really..really want Beowulf on BLuray, but it's not being released on blu ray in the states..however it is in the U.K...so just wondering if i could import it...

I dont think so. PAL is not supported on US Ps3's.

It probably won't work (personal experience). I've tried a couple movies from the UK and they didn't work, but on some movies they don't have regioning and they can play on any PS3. You should probably call or ask the person your buying it from and ask them if there is a reg. number on the back, if there is it probably won't work.

alas one of the fatal errors of the blu victory. HD-DVD was not region encoded. i dont understand why it would be released blu in uk but not us. weird.

Give it a few months, it will be out on Blu-ray.

The movie is average at best especially after the first hour.

It was good at the theater in 3-D, but without the 3-D it is average.

Nah i love it either way..plus i watched it on HD at a friends out and it's quite possible the top movie picture wise o've seen in HD...anyways i found a place i can get it from in Japan on Blu-Ray that will work on my ps3...hurray for imports!!!

http://bluray.liesinc.net/ - has information about region free and all region Blu-ray movies. If a Region B movie falls in to 1 of those 2 categories and your TV supports PAL/50 Hz HD you're good to go.
