Can the PS3 catch a virus ?

I mean not like a virus that gives me crazy pop ups asking me for money at the XMB but maybe make the PS3 slower or something like that, anyway I have alot of "stuff" on my PSP like videos, music and *cough*"games"*cough*. Sooo I'm wondering if my PS3 will mess up if I connect my PSP which might have a virus ?

Because he has a modded PSP where he can pirate video games from the internet using a different firmware that Sony uses allowing him to do so.

The only way you could get a virus is if you programed a fake (virused) firmware update then installed it to your PS3 via PC or USB drive....In other words it's virtually impossible unless you're doing it yourself knowingly and have physical access to the system. You won't get them just using your PS3 (surfing the web, playing online, or loading stuff off your PSP etc) they can't install themselves that way.

That would be awsome if it can catch a virus and die. Then I can go back to playing WOW. Oo Uhh mmm don't mind me that was a WOW withdrawl for a sec. Nope PS3 can't get virus.

yes it can, but the virus has to be programmed for the PS3, why would someone waste their time doing that whena computer virus would do a lot more.
