I'm not sure if you can or can't to be honest. But I think as long as your just going online to play games through the network and not surfing unknown or risky sites, you should be fine.

No, I'm pretty sure there aren't any security holes in the PS3's firmware. Besides who'd wanna hack a PS3 account or whatever.

wow, i'd say it's more than a little paranoid :) basically, you're fine. there's a better chance of you walking outside and a goat falling from the sky and landing on you :)

They would hack your account and steal your user ID and password as well as your credit card info. This already happened on the 360 I believe so I hope the PS3 is more secure...

I have no idea, I know you can install Linux on the PS3.

Yes, the PS3 could get a virus. The chances of someone going through all of the trouble of writing one are pretty slim, though.

It is basically impossible because the ps3 has its own web reader which means the virus would have to be coded for ps3 which is impossible for now but i wouldnt worry about it unless some one takes the time to code a virus for ps3 but there is a way to get virus you would have to download something from your computer put in on a cd put the cd in in your ps3 and your hdd will read it which the virus could cause engine overload or opening more then 1 game that you play and overloading your thing but i think you could just delete it but im not sure that would help at all.

You can't, or it's highly unlikely, to get a virus from the internet... mainly because any PC virus won't work on the PS3.
